i disagree...i've seen the animations on the youtube 08 gameplay demo's...some animations look crazy..especially the Wr catches...still tho not where it needs to be...but they have added upgrades

Hes right jddcp, it sounds like last years presentation, I didnt buy madden last year so i cant say it looks like it. But, look at the sidelines, no refs, just a few players standing around. They all look the same. The crowd is the worst. The crowd looks like cardboard cutouts multiplied by about a million. Every member of the crowd has the same yellow visor on. And only two different color shirts. EA calls thier game next-gen. Not when APF has thousands of different crowd members that have thier own animations. APF has refs and line judges or whatever you can apparently knock down. 2K pwns anything EA can put out. Period. And im not trying to get you to hate madden if you are one of those madden sheep on this 2k board but. Im just sayin the beast is in the details.

OK OK enough already! I have been a madden fan for years and only because ther was nothing else out there to play for the longest time until 2k5! There may have been a couple others added in the mix before then but then again I wasn't really into video games before! I am so excited to own a copy of APF because of the one major thing that madden does not and has not given Madden Players for YEARS! With all the friggin money EA has made over the years with this title; one would be inclined to think that they would include on line leagues! And honestly , with an exclusive licensing agreement with the NFL, one would expect that to be part of the deal! EA can Kiss my entire *** because I'm tired of being let down every year because of this one problem! YAY APF!!! Thank you for giving me a chance to compete in on line leagues!

I, unlike many of the people on this site, am not a sheep of either madden or 2k. Neither company pays my salary, mortgage, or anything else. All things being equal, I would prefer 2k over Madden. But they are not equal. It depends on what you like. I like being able to play with the Philadelphia Eagles against the Cowgirls. I like drafting players and making trades. I like seeing how a player I drafted progresses in Franchise.

Some of you only play online, so 2k is probably perfect for you. But for those of us who don't play a lot online, its kinda shallow. And I said what I said about Gameplay because the guy said the gameplay on Madden 08 isn't good. How would he know that without playing it?

If your answer is, "from past experience", well before the announcements regarding 2k, I was expecting "from past experience", Great Presentation, Franchise, First Person Mode, the Crib, ect. We are not getting a lot of that stuff. We will only know how good or bad Madden and 2k are when we actually get to play them ourselves.

I never said people who PLAY 2k are sheep. By that definition, I'd be one too. A sheep is someone who just blindly buys a game without trying it first or who has too much loyalty for one company over another. P

People who don't follow the leader, ask questions, challenge companies if they don't like something or want something changed. Push a good product to be great.

If all of you will buy 2k regardless, why should 2k strive to get better. They had your money before they did any work. That has been EAs problem. In that way, some of you are no better than Madden heads and contribute to the problem. These companies have to earn our business year in and year out. Loyalty breeds complacency. Complacency breeds laziness.

I'm sure the folks at EA have done this many times to our 2K franchise - they've sat down in a room and analyzed what the competition offers and decides whether they need to counter by implementing similar features.
I'd like to have an Intelligent Discussion on what Madden does well and what it can improve on based on ONLY the new videos released on Gametrailers today - please do not bring up other versions of the game (only if you need to referencing an important point grounded in the current videos). If you feel you cant do this, please do not post.

First and foremost download as many of the new madden videos you can ive provided links to several here, but grab the newest ones (not the interview one).

Now i've downloaded all the new Madden Videos on the frontpage today, as well at the Ncaa videos for analysis.
Here are important things that I noticed this game does well and needs to be noted:

1. The game looks faster then previous iterations (this isn't a problem 2K has ever had, so no real action needed here).

2. This years player introductions are F-ing cool and no one can deny that (download the video) We need something this Impactful to introduce the Legend players, if we dont already.http://download.gametrailers.com/gt_vault/t_madden08_playerintro_gp_gt_h264.wmv

3. The Animations are improved and feel as if they have weight (again not a problem for us we have always had the edge here)

4. I feel the Injuries system in madden are still static and lacking (we will have the decided edge here)

5. The sidelines are devoid of any real-life atmosphere - sorry but 20 guys all doing the same "cheering" animation isnt going to cut it - one of the videos has the cheifs side line all doing the same animation while the greenbay sideline are statues, LOL Link here: http://download.gametrailers.com/gt_vault/t_madden08_endzonerush_gp_gt_h264.wmv

Really the only thing that concerns me about this game is the Sheer Depth and amount of Features and Modes, though I suppose most of us already knew this was where the real deficiency was there it is for those of us who dont.

Lastly, as I hope were all Football Fans first, and 2K fans second. I'd like to say that this years Madden looks alot better that the previous ones that ive been burned on before - 2K needs to take note and learn - counter if they are going to get back in this for real.
