What if 2k says screw the NFL and instead watches Mark Cuban's new football league, which critics say will rival the nfl, and it does do great. I think 2k could take that approach instead and really bury EA and also give the NFL a liitle of payback juice. This would be Mark Cuban and 2k Vs EA and the NFL. That's like Clash of the Titans PT 2.

I think 2k is going to embarrass Madden anyway. First off, Mark Cuban has to GET a league going, and then try to sell it. And honestly, there is no easy way to market a league like that to compete with the NFL. I just don't see that happening. Would it be cool? If executed right, probably.

Which is why, in my opinion, if 2k just made you the creator of a brand new league, where you created teams, players, coaches, and maybe some pre-determined "stars" of this league, into a game that you could control, that would be amazing. But sadly, that would not sell on it's own. Maybe they could make the legends the owners of teams or the coaches, and then you can use the legends in exhibition if you wanted, online if you wanted, or even in franchise if you wanted. The legends are going to be selling this game, but if there was a way to turn them off in a season or franchise, then your back to what Mark Cuban is trying to do and make his own league.

Maybe he's not going to rival the NFL, maybe he will. But the possibilities of creating your own league and picking a team and running with them would be awesome in my opinion. And maybe you could take your user-teams on-line, and etc.

Time will tell, but it really all depends on if the NFL license is going to get renewed or not. If it does, then 2k might go that direction, but if it doesn't, expect 2k to get back into the NFL game. And I am very interested to see where Cuban takes this league because I'm a fan of FOOTBALL before the NFL.

honestly, I don't think it sounds that crazy. If 2k can make this game work, stay on the level of gameplay 2k5 had and keep improving, I don't see any reason to go back to the NFL. Let them and EA sleep together for all I care, when we lost the license at the end of 05 I was in complete shock, utterly ****ed off, and never thought I could be able to play football without updated rosters. I tried Madden out and just couldn't get over the gameplay experience I feel is so much better in 2k. I've been playing 2k5 since and it hasn't made a huge difference that I've had to play with old rosters.

I think the level of customization they can bring to this game and not having to abide by NFL restrictions (late hits, trash talk, etc) 2K may want to do just that, and not even consider a bid once 2010 comes around. I couldn't be more excited for this game to come out, I know it's missing some things, but based on what I've seen so far and people saying it plays like 2k5 I am more than sold on a copy. It's the whole reason I'm actually buying a 360 later this month.

My 2 cents.

I hope Mark Cuban does well, but it would be a miracle if he could get a Football league going that would do one tenth what the NFL does.....

that's an interesting idea and one that I can totally see happening... especially if Cuban starts pulling top college talent.

cubans league will fail for the fact that when football players are younger the dream will still be to play in the nfl not to play in cubans football league cuban is better off trying to create a world football league.

Yes its true it will fail. NFL is where its at. Now if we can only get rid of that ridiculous exclusive license deal.

Guys its the United Football League, Not "Cubans League" hes not the Commisionar he's lined up to be the owner of just one of the participating teams.

Interesting Concept thought, 2K lining up with the UFL vs. Ea and the NFL, if the UFL has any success it will still be peanuts compared to the NFL so your really lining yourself up for 2nd best.
I think its a good "Back-up" plan if the NFL gets locked up with EA in another contract Extension.

lol dude 2k could beat EA's football game with two hands tied behind thier backs in quicksand. no fanboy here, im just stating the facts, EA needs to be knocked off their high horse and come back down to earth. with 2k coming back you truly see the difference between a product done because they can do it and a product done because they cared to do it. EA knew that they suck at making a football game, so instead of changing they and the nfl went into cahoots together and brought out every other thing so nothing could rival them. thats why they cant, wont use the espn license. they don't care about it, as long as 2k does not have it, they got it. but graphics dont make a game not snazzy feature, its programmers and a company that knows what they are doing. unfortunitly, EA don't until they clean house. but in three weeks, people will see what a real quality product actually means....
