I just want to say that 2k is doing the right thing. I say this because they are not running their mouths or running all kind of media about this game because they want to do it right and approach marketing differently. Now remember this is not your average football game. This is something different and no one has marketed a game like this before, except for a computer game that came out about legends in the late 80's and it did not do well. It's David vs Goliath this time. So let's give 2k the benefit of doubt. Because I know they read these forums and see their fans turning on them. So ask yourselves, Why should they release media for the so call 2k fans who complain about everything. And also i'll tell you the difference between madden fans and 2k fans. Madden fans stick together and 2k fans stay at civil war. They are laughing at us on EA forums. My head is down because I am ashame of this forum. Where every thread is full of youngsters who every comment is a curse word. Trust me when I say this 2k will not let us down but the question now is will their fans let them down.

2k is winning in basketball now, baseball(obviously), are tied with hockey.....NFL2k5 sold more than Madden on XBOX...I know Madden will sell more, but I think AP2k8 is going to surprise a lot of people with their sales.

I hear that....I understand both sides....I can wait because complaing does nothing good for the community. On the other hand 2k should give us something. When 2k5 came out...they gave us tutorial videos to hold us over.
We as fans want a recent reason to talk about the game....we have to wait!

I aint one for complaining, but this is what 2k is doing, you walk into my deli store, im selling the deluxe BLT, im telling you its a sandwhich, you get to chose what you want with the sandwich, you have been hearing little about this thing, but keep in mind its what your eating but i tell you little about the information mainly because toni's that opened up across the street is a new store i dont want them stealing my ideas. keep in mind your buying this sandwich from me so your my customer now which means your in the store. but toni's is telling all the info and everything about their sandwiches and everything, the only people who know about my sandwich are the people who regulary come too. now im not telling you about my sandwich for the public to see it. So what is a customer to do? they will go to toni's across the street because mainly im not good at selling my stuff and keeping secrets. Thats not the customers fault, thats what they always do THEY ARE THE CUSTOMERS lol my job is to sell it to them their job is to process it and buy it or leave it. It's never a good idea in business to do that infact i'll call it what it really is, stupid. sometimes secrets are good and they help in companies, but sometimes in life we can hide so much from the thieves that sometimes we hide it from out very selves.

I feel where you are coming from. Your point is correct. This game was only made for the loyal fans. It seems that the loyalty will come and go. If one has true loyalty then one will wait and trust no matter how little info is reveal. I for once believe in 2kports and really all the complainning will not make the game come any sooner. I think madden will be better than last year, but it's things in that game that make me wanna (puke :o).
Like how the guys jump over each other after plays. Seeing tackles from madden 01. I'll rent it and play for myself, but they are so lazy at times.

Unfortunately, they are limiting their customer base to 2K loyalists, when they could be luring others. How can anyone spread word of mouth info about this game when they next to nothing about it. People aren't going to spread the word of something they don't know about themselves.
So in reality, they are keeping us on the edge of our seat, but are driving away possible other customers. My guess is there are a lot more "other customers" than there are of us on these boards.

Being that this (gameplay and animation wise) is a better version of 2k5 without the NFL. They already sold me this game. Gameplay / Sig Styles....everything else is fluff.
I don't know but truly doubt this game will be worst than 2k5. And there's a big reason why nobody has played this game. Just the demo.

Maybe it's still to early to advertise for the Casual gamers... but at the very least put some gameplay movies out for the loyal 2K supporters to get a glimpse of.
Can this secret strategy still be because they don't want EA to see something? 2K8 FB is basically around 3 weeks away from release! Who gives a S#!T what EA does!

Finally someone gets it. I have pretty much refrained from posting here from the increased level of immaturity but I still read from time to time to see if any new developments occured.
If the game is good it will be known. PS3 owners will be buying this game in droves for the simple fact they don't have much else to play anyway. Once enough people start buying it on the 360 the word will get out about how this game plays. If it plays better than madden then the word will get out. "This game plays better than madden" and that'll be good enough. They still may want to advertise it some more but word will get out.
Also , the gamestops I go to have the fake Game cases with APF 2K8 on them so they are advertising it some.

That's one thing with 2K you don't have to worry about. They seem to always look to improve their games. Regardless of what the consumer says. Sometimes it works out great, other times not so great. But 2K's history is they don't need any outside motivation to improve their games, or at least attempt to.

Well I don't know. The Nes came out in the 80's. Mario was born in the 80's. Zelda was born in the 80's. Ea was born in the 80's. Sega was born in the 80's. Oh and two little companies name Microsoft and Apple were also. But I see your point the 80's was a drag man.
Sega's history
They were around before the 80s
Founded in 1951 by American David Rosen, who moved permanently to Japan after WWII, Sega (originally dubbed Rosen Enterprises) started out as an art export company. By the late 1950's Rosen had moved on to importing instant photo booths and coin-op games from the United States. Rosen Enterprises continued to expand. In 1965 the company purchased a jukebox manufacturing company, which was then merged into Rosen Enterprises. Upon completion of the merger, the company was renamed to Sega, which was a contraction of "Service Games." Sega soon began producing their own coin-op games and competed directly against American imports. In 1970, Sega was bought by Gulf & Western. Throughout the late 70's and early 80's, Sega produced arcade games and software for early home videogame consoles, such as the Atari 2600 (http://www.classicgaming.com/museum/2600.shtml) and the ColecoVision (http://www.classicgaming.com/museum/colecovision.shtml). Sega wasn't exactly an industry powerhouse yet, but they had scored a few hits with games like Turbo (which was packaged with the ColecoVision's driving controller), Frogger, and Zaxxon. By this time Sega had an American division dubbed Sega Enterprises, which primarily dealt with console software. This division was sold to Bally, a large pinball and arcade game company, in 1983. Soon, Sega of Japan was sold to a group of Japanese investors, and Sega officially became Sega Enterprises, Ltd. Sega released a string of arcade hits in the mid-80's, strengthening its position in the U.S. market especially. Games like Out Run (1986), After Burner (1987), and Shinobi (1987) not only raked in cash for future arcade development, but also gave Sega a recognized stable of successful games that could be ported Sega produced home consoles.

This is an public internet football discussion forum. What goes on between you and your psychologist needs to stay in the shrink’s office.
You come here moaning about your state of mind and your embarrassment (?) regarding this forum. And you get a negative response from the public internet football discussion forum members here. AND YOU WONDER WHY?
Interesting to note: you twice talked about the immature forum members and the cursing and name calling, yet you’re the one who ended up firing the first salvo, calling me Banjo. I like Banjo, BTW: has a twangy sort of musical ring to it for some reason...
Anyway, back to the topic at hand: I completely disagree with the sort of unquestioning, blind support for 2K that you’re endorsing. These are not the good old SEGA days. Since TT took over, 2K has released broken game after broken game: freeze issues, bugs, glitches, lousy programming and broken features. And what has their response been? Why, no response at all. They take no responsibility for their products, once they’ve been released.
With APF, they have completely dropped the ball, offering a product that 90% of the football gaming public will have little or no interest in due to the lack of modes and features. And that’s if they even hear about it, what with the unfathomable bungling of this game’s marketing.
If you’re going to hang your head in shame, hang it in realization that you’re blindly supporting a company that appears to have absolutely no respect for the gamers and consumers who purchase their products. Better yet, hold your head up high and just post your football observations. That’s all people here are interested in anyway.

If I was 2k I would just postpone the launch. They are obviously doing a poor job of promoting their game. I mean, isnt their whole strategy on the release being so soon is to try and sell a few more games before the EA nation takes over? Shouldn't they be trying to make us drool over a game and getting us excited. They aren't doing any of that. I thought 2k was for the fans and EA was for the zombies. I guess I was wrong. I canceled my pre-order and pre-ordered NCAA. Goodjob 2k, thanks for the non-hype.

We all know anyone with the income to buy both will likely purchase more than one football title this year, be it NCAA, 2k8, Madden, etc. Last year I even bought Blitz and gave than a try for a day or two.
If you think Madden sucks year after year, you either bought the game, at least played it or have no basis for your arguement. I'd love to say it blows as well, but I have been playing 2k5 since it came out. My last Madden was 2005 and that went to the nephews when I gave them my PS2, so I can't really comment on it.
It just amazes me that people complain year after year about a title that they turn around and buy again... just to complain about it again.
It's like going to my mother's house and listening to her complain about all the same things week after week just to hear herself complain. They're both decent games and they all have flaws. If they didn't, we wouldn't need a new title the next year.

Thanks for your input. NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!
