Simply guess the score GameSpot's reviewer will issue APF 2K8 and list your reasons for that score. Only use 1-10 or 1.5-9.5 scores.

Score: 7.5

Pros:

- 240-plus NFL legends
- Innovative Special Abilities attributive system
- Engaging gameplay
- Signature Styles
- Field Pass
- Living sidelines
- Deep customization

Cons:

- No Franchise mode
- Light on game modes
- NFL 2K5 recycled animations
- Where's Jim Brown and Bo Jackson?

8.0, although I expect I'll rate it 9.5 (if it ever gets to Europe). I'm losing my trust in Gamespot reviews, especially after Shadowrun. Also, in what way is it any help to only rate games at 0.5 intervals?

Because it simplifies the scoring process. There's not a substantial difference between an 8.1 and 8.4. It just makes good sense.

7.8 if that's possible. Don't know about their new scoring system as alluded to by Fred

I'd except them to give All Pro in the 8's or higher.

Pros :
Legends
Gameplay
Dan and Peter
Online Leagues
you know what, everything except the NFL

Con :
No NFL (and that's the NFL's loss)
Once the leagues start, my life is gone. (Wake up, work, 2K8, sleep, wake up, work, 2K8, ect)

After seeing the demo version. The score will be around 8.0 to 8.9. tops. The game looks great. However, since there is no franchise mode and this game is geared toward online play. Fans of 2ksports and even new fans will buy the game but will be lost after the 16 game season. Without multi season. Its going to loose it fire as the better choice in football games. But i will say this. From what i saw so far. The NFL will be looking at 2k closer than before.

8.7

9.5

Pros
Amazing football gameplay
Field Pass
Limitless Customizations
Playing with the best of the best

Cons
No franchise (for people who need that type of thing)
No NFL (not that it matters)

This is a football game and is the best football game ever made. If it does get higher than a 9 then I would think these people need to play with current stars.

8.5

Pros
Very realistic but fun gameplay
Presentation
Highly customizable system
High replayability

Cons
Lack of franchise
A little too similar to 2k5 ( what they will probably say )
So fun that marriages are failing

Based on what gamespot gave the 2K series when it stepped into the PS2 and XBOX I will assume it will be in the low 9's or High 8's....

Personally, I would give this game a pre-rating of 8.5...

Low on features

Legends will be hit and miss with a lot of gamers

Sounds like the season mode will be sketchy as far as making your own team and duplicated players...

The gameplay and realistic physics will push the score up.

Pros:
Great Gameplay (great animations combined with mechanics loved in 2K5)
Solid Presentation (namely personalities and sideline AI)
Highly customizable
Online gameplay (The heart and soul of this game)

Cons:
No Franchise
Limited highly recognizable Hall of Famers (after how many games will you get bored playing against Jerry Rice?)
Lack of gameplay modes
Small replay value (Most gamers don't go online, very limited amount of things these gamers can do)
Graphics only marginally better than Madden (whos haven't changed in three years)
Lack of new gameplay elements (seems like the same game as NFL 2K5)

Of course, this is all a guess...the game could end up being a 10 or a 4...who knows.

^^^i disagree tastes salty^^^

Replay Value- So many combos of legends, i cant even decide who to use first and i know it wont be my only team.

Limited highly reognizeable HOF- So many i dont even feel like naming them. If you dont recognize them you either dont watch much football, are too young to know any of them or have no appreciation for those who paved the way.

Graphics- I love the graphics, the jerseys look great and the people look more true to life then madden

Still, who you recognize probably differs from who most people recognize. They aren't trying to sell this game to a hundred football gurus, they are trying to sell it to the mass market who in all honestly, don't even remotely recognize 220 of the 240 Hall of Famers in the game.

I think the animations are incredible, but the graphics themselves are just marginally impressive to me. They don't look as good as NBA 2K7...but thats to be expected since this is their first release on a nex-gen console. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt there.

Regardless, when you're thinking about how someone else is going to review a game, someone who needs to give a general review (not directed towards one party, say, a hardcore football fan), APF 2K8 will probably average somewhere between a 7.5 to an 8.5.

True, the graphics are not as awesome as NBA. I think a lot of legends are recognizable, and even if they arent, i think this game will help people learn to recognize some of the underappreciated legends. But i also think there are too many scrub legends. why is bubby brister here!?!?
