This is great stuff man, welcome to that board. Just like you said, football is football. The Madden 08 pics are from last gen though isn't it. I maybe wrong though. But any how good stuff. But i like the looks of APF better. But not taking anything from Madden.

APF will most likely be a little better gameplay wise but Madden has improved and I must say the NFL and franchise mode are much better than 11 legends+generic players and season mode.So with both you get good and bad things.

People try to be PC about it but it just dosent work...Both are not great games, madden is average at best...I have seen a lot of ncaa08 and madden 08 vids and they are soo glitchy and robotic looking...Players are jerky, dbs skate to align with WRS at the line of scrimmage...etc etc...

You're obviously young, brainwashed, and bias.....Anyone saying one games looks better is just a bias person to that product...Actually, I cannot really say one football looks better than the other.....I see people saying things like, "APF looks clearer or better"; then I go and look and try to see what they are talking about and I honestly cannot see what they are seeing.....To me they both look competitive with no clear edge....And its really hard to tell over the internet since the source feed could be different in so many ways....For example, Madden could show a video on a high end plasma, while APF is on standard high definition TV....So it's really to hard to tell, to many variables involved...The only way to judge is to be infront of identical TV's side-by-side...So anyone saying , "that is better", or "this looks better" is just a wishful fan boy, nothing more...

I'm one of the millions who felt like Madden 06 and Madden 07 were terrible football games......And now that 2kSports is back on the competitive field, it seems like EA want to get their act together and give the football gaming community things they should've had from the start...Things like 60fps and the edit feature for example.....But nevertheless, it does seem that EA is stepping up, so it seems....And it seems like 2k sports is also putting out a competitive game from the gates, so I like that in them.......But here is the deal, assuming both games are up to the game quality standards, comparing Madden NFL 08 to APF 08 is going to be a losing battle for 2k sports...There's no way a non-nfl license with no authentic feel is going to challenge another football that does....Let it be known that :bark: "ONLY 2KSPORTS LOYAL FOOTBALL FANS IS GOING TO REALLY DIG THIS GAME"....The average Joe will be grabbing madden off the shelves...and EA's fan base will definetly be getting madden...Madden will get there fans, plus the neutral fan base, while 2k sports swallow up there previous fan base....I like 2k as a company..I like how they do business...I think 2k has the overall better programmers and seem to know what the public want...Their basketball title SMOKES LIVE hands down!!! and there baseball game speaks for itself......But no NFL license, no real teams, logo's, etc., will hurt them in the long run....But I do absolutely love their commentary!! That's oustanding when compared to Madden's terrible radio guy....It's going to be a good year for football though....Far as visual quality, I see where somebody may something looks "robotic" and one game, but then in the other game, I'll notice a animation that didn't quite look right...They both are going to have some questionable looking animations, and they both will have some life-like animations....So u really can't judge just yet people.....Even though some of u lil boys try, u JUST CAN'T.......Just enjoy it for what it is and both games will do well....:thumbsup:

Wow, if you were trying to promote Madden, you failed miserably. That LT move didn't even make any sense. I'm looking at it over and over, and the defensive back barely made contact with him, but he does this superhuman spin and in midair realigns himself, does a one foot plant, turns fast and runs. Makes no sense.

And Woo-Hoo! Vince Young got sacked! Anyone else notice he's like 15 yards from the line of scrimmage? Way to go, you taped a sack. That hasn't been featured in every Madden they've ever released.

And that move by the Bengals back (Rudi Johnson I'm assuming. Too lazy to look it up) also made no sense. That juke was unnecessary, and how the hell did he know what was going on without looking? He didn't even turn his head, but he knew to do an unnecessary juke right into a defensive player and break a tackle? Great job EA.

Again, all the bells and whistles, but no substance.

I just think it's funny how all the Madden fanboys are sucked in by nice moves that aren't very realistic at all. I bet if I held a holographic pokemon card in front of them I'd make some money, because if it looks pretty, it must be worth it. When Walter Payton made those moves in the clip Bo posted, he was looking at the defender. He didn't make a magical guess. And Rice looked the ball in, and Perry was all over the lineman.

It's the small stuff that matters. The small stuff makes a football game. And you've got to get the small stuff in before you make big innovations.

You can't tell all that just from videos. Anybody who says they "know" which game will be better is just guessing based on reputation. The vids don't show any glaring problems with either game. To me they both look pretty solid but I really can't tell (and neither can anyone else) which one will be better just based on the videos. MLB 2k7 looked like an amazing game. Fast forward to when you actually get the game and realize how glitchy it is. Just reserve absolute judgment until the games come out.
