I am so sick and tired of people saying Madden 08 is stepping up. Its a joke. It is 07, with a few legends and the same god-awful gameplay. Someone please tell me what is in Madden now that changes its perception? Madden 06 was the worst football game of all time, 07 was a close second. Why will 08 not follow trend? Wow, because they put stupid icons underneath the players? Bc they added 2 more pre-snap scenes? Bc they are using the same garbage engine and added cheesy gang-tackling and "branching animations" that all suck?


APF 2k8 will OWN Madden in terms of gameplay, its a shame that it wont sell as many copies.

Supposedly there are many gameplay improvements like gang tackling,sideline catches,o-line blocking,weapons,db play that are touted as making a difference.Who knows?We haven't played it.Reports have been good but........

To the OP..I agree that the last 2 Maddens on the 360 were below par. But until I actually play the game myself I wont BASH it.

I have seen the videos and I am not impressed with them adding features that are a given..or at least should be in a football game.

you know, Madden isnt half as bad as you'd like to think it is. It is a playable game...not that i liked nex-gen madden so far, but i have enjoyed madden in the past. And if this one steps it up with gang tackling (hopefully) better AI, a robust franchise mode- i dont see how someone can go wrong with a purchase... be realistic, if madden really had such terible gameplay it would not be where it is today.

Madden and 2K have two completely different styles of play.

Some prefer madden and some prefer 2k.

Theres no right or wrong. Last years madden offered mediocre features and less than "last gen". And they are now hoping to give what made them relevant to gamers back.

Madden isnt trash and 2K isnt trash. For anyone to say that either is, is only giving a biased opinion based on what "theY" feel football should be.

If the gameplay changes,although long overdue,make it to where it's hard to criticize,Madden will probably have the big edge because of NFL and franchise.A better Madden really doesn't bode well for 2k.In a fair fight,2k wins.We probably won't see that again.It's as if 2k has to fight with both hands tied behind their back.

Here's the thing - I won't give EA a penny of my money, nor will I encourage the development of their titles by renting or buying used. Simply put, I won't play Madden, or any other EA titles.

They mistreat their workers. They make abusive use of licensing deal to squelch competition. They do barely a thing for their customers, but anything and everything for the mighty buck.

So no - I can't tell you whether Madden is better or worse, nor do I care. There are three corporate entites (I know that is misspelt, but the vulgarity filter munges it) in this world that will never see a red cent of mine, in order:

Microsoft
Wal-Mart
Electronic Arts

Just my feelings on the matter.

Listen, I know you already think Madden is Trash - and most (if not all of us agree that 2K is wayyy ahead of Madden in gameplay) but when madden adds things to its game as compared to next year - it is an improvement over the last game....(even though features should have never been removed).
A huge thing they are adding back this year that probably took them alot of development time and money is owners mode....(that should have never been removed)

Just as Franchise is something alot of APF players want to see in next years version (if they release a follow-up).

They didn't "remove" anything from the game. That's misleading. They didn't put it in the next-gen game. Maybe you think they should have, but it's still not "removing" anything. It's a new game when they make the jump to next gen. They have to recreate everything. If there aren't as many stadiums, that doesn't mean they "removed" any stadiums, it means they couldn't add all of the stadiums in one year.
