The GOLD players yes...I would say they fit that criteria of a legend..seeing that most are in the HOF or going to be. And there names ...you only have too say there last name ...Singletary. Payton, Montana, Marino, Montana, Aikman, Sanders etc....

Now there may be a few Silver that you could give a legend status....but very few.

Now the BRONZE players!! I dont have the full break down list of all the players in ther GOLD. SILVER. BRONZE lists...but I can say that without a doubt there arent any BRONZE players with LEGEND status LOL!!!

They will be known players...like say Bubby Brister (im assuming he is a bronze) he was basically a career backup who played some games when the starter got hurt. But alot of the bronze players are ppl who were popular to NFL heads but not the public at large. (IMO that is) BRONZE players =NOT A LEGEND!!!

I see a few threads where ppl think the LEGEND players will dominate.....I say NO!! If you look at any NFL team...you could say they have a make up of 2 GOLD type players....some SILVERS...a few Bronzes and the rest would be GENERIC (back-ups, etc).

I see alot of competitive games happening online....lets say a walter payton or Earl Campbell going against a team that is Defense heavy. Or 2 teams that are well balanced...just the right mix of players on bith sides of the ball.

If you feel your team gets dominated by players who use GOLD QBS and a GOLD WR....go back to the lab and get some SILVER CBS...or a GOLD DE to take advantage of a generic OL.

There are so many things that are right about this game that I get excited thinking a writing about it!!!

I have not been excited about ANY football game as much as this one. Lets say 2k had the license back...I know without a doubt I wouldnt be as excited as I am for APF2k8.

Loosing the license has forced them to rethink and come up with something else and ...as MAD as I was the day I read they lost the license...I am very happy now that as a result this game was made!!!!

Look forward to game release and playing with some mature ADULT (and mature young folx also) for some exciting SIM football!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. Online in APF is going to be good.

I think it is ridiculous that people are worried about 'balance' in this game (omg - what if everyone takes Rice) when every single NFL game to date has had zero balance - included NFL2K5. In the NFL games there are alway two or three top tier teams. Those two or three teams dominate onlien play so much that you either become a fan and use one or you get used to loosing because you are a Browns fan and want to play with 'your' team.

With APF you can play with YOUR team and every game you play you will know your team is at least equally matched with your opponents. Yeah, there will be give and take at the various positions but overall your team will never face an opponent that has all the odds in their favor.

What i am most looking forward to is that all teams are pretty much equal. You will have no more THC's of the online world. YOu just cannot pick the Patriots and dominate if you have average football skills.

Anyways, I am really looking forward to this game.

WUT ABOUT THOSE LOBBY GAMES WHERE U BOTH HAVE BARRY SANDERS AND MONTANA, WONT THOSE FEEL WEIRD, I CANT WAIT FOR THIS GAME BUT, I DOTN KNOW HOW LOBBY GAMES WILL GO, I PROLLY WONT BE PLAYING ANY LOBBY GAMES

NOW LEAGUES ARE EASIR TO MANAGE, U COULD HAVE A THREAD DRAFT OR AN AIM DRAFT, IM NOT TOO WORRIED ABOUT THAT, BUT LOBBY GAMES AE WUT IM WORRIED ABOUT

Chill with the CAPS would ya.

There are 250+legends to pick from. Yeah, you will see teams with some of the same guys - maybe even occassionally the exact same two gold players but I think that will happen less than you think. Far less than you run into the Patriots online in a pick up game of Madden.

Take all the options people have for legends and then all the options you have in filling out the rest of the team. That makes for a ton of choices and everyone is going to have guys they remember or that played for their team that they want so you are going to get variety. Then top it off with a completely customizable uniform look and I don't see a problem.

Who cares if you see the same guy once in a while - even in leagues. That is a small sacrafice for the type of balance this game will offer. How many leagues are that fun when you have to pick one of the existing NFL teams - 3 guys get the best teams and the other 9 guys fight for the scraps.

I wonder will they have a online option to match you against teams that dont have the same GOLD players etc.

Like in 2K5 I think you could filter out teams you didnt want too play or something too that effect.

Lets say you go online and you have Sanders and Montana and didnt want too face them...maybe like a filter that you can choose a list of GOLD legends you do not want too be matched against.

Or something even easier...maybe being able to see the gold star players a opponent is using prior to accepting a invite.

OR just play with ppl you meet of message boards...thats what I plan to do!!!

Madden? You mean 2K5, right? :)

That said, no kidding. Even at it's peak, in 2K5 I would run into probably 5 teams total, ever. Pats, Eagles, Falcons, Vikings (lob to Moss), and Ravens (lob to TE).

So...yeah. This will be a breath of fresh air that is most definitely needed. That, and the first time ever that 2K can patch all versions of the game, so if there is an exploitable glitch, you can pretty much bet it will get fixed. Talk about joy.

They've had plenty of time to fix the DE glitch. Get rid of that, and the ridiculously easy TE-corner lobs, and we might actually see a situation where rankings mean something. Doubtful, but maybe! :) Perhaps if they go back to where a win is +1, a loss is -1, a quit is -2, and a drop is -4.....

:D

All the Legends in APF are not LEGENDS
True. But then EA advertises Madden as a football game. Every game company stretches the truth in order to sell units.
