For all of you complaining shut up. And stop breaking your consoles. If you take care of it you will usually not have problems. For those claiming to be on your "8th console man, frig this I'm going to sony", you are an idiot with electronics and should never be allowed to own anything above 100 dollars. That is not possible without reckless, idiotic behavior with a 400 dollar machine. (I didn't think it would overheat if I put it in a drawer while playing or turned it upside down while playing-type stuff)

i agree entirely. i mean it cant be easy to break a 360 considering the first time i used my friend dumped pop on it. and it still works fine for me

I'm still on my first one. I think the main problem is that when people send theirs in, it is either improperly repaired or they're given a bad refurbished one. As a result, the people whose consoles break usually have many repeats.

Bout ****ing time lol .. tbh no matter how well you take care of your console, it's gonna break. I treated mine like it was a 1 million dollar glass case .. it still broke

What i do hate though is that if you have it sitting vertical NO MATTER WHAT it will always scratch this disk.

Troller your a flippin idiot. These systems are awesome, but the durability is crap. Im on my third one, and dont abuse it. My original Xbox still runs to this day. My ps2 still runs to this day.

I wont ever turn to a ps3, beleive that. But they need to make sure the systems work before they release em.

XBox1 is waaaay more durable than 360!!! You can actually hear and feel the insides moving around when you pick up the 360. I haven't had any problems, but I can see them going bad. X-box is built like a BRICK **** house! LOL

Troller, when your 360 breaks, come back and delete your post.

I laughed my head of when I read it, like wtf...I can rule out I.T as somewhere that this guy works. And btw if you do work in an I.T department, send in your resignation.

There is a flaw in the heat sink that cuases the processor to overheat, its a known issue that MS addressed, that swhy they are going with a new chip soon.

Best thing you can do for you 360 is have it out in the open away from any heat. Also, buy a air duster and use it at least once a month. Dust is bad bad bad.

Nah don't think so, you didn't need one for the one year and MS has your console info in their systems, so they update it that way

There must be a lot of abusers of the XBOX 360, it is a problem of epedemic proportions. Maybe you should start a support group for all of us console breakers.

Hello my fellow friends and Gamers. I purchased my Xbox 360 I blieve sometime last year and it has never fail me so far. I will be honest I did see the Red Rings one time on my 360. I was connecting My wireless adapter and for some reason when I pushed my 360 back away from the edge of My TV the power shut off. When I touch the power cord a little it came back on as if there was a shortage in the cord and not connected properly. I reassure myself by pushing the cord as far as it can go to my 360 and it will still just shut off it I push my 360 back to the point the cord touches the wall. When I saw the Red rings I just unplugged the wireless adapter and behold the console came back on and my wireless signal is stronger than ever now. I used My Media Center from my PC to my 360 and it works great. I live in a town House and my 360 is downstairs while my PC is upstairs..works great..

You sir, have no freaking idea what you are talking. How is it someones fault when their console breaks after a week? Why is it that many of these same people have owned multiple consoles in the past and had not experienced problems of the same magnitude. Please get out of here with your "Holier than thou" attitude and stop behaving like an ignorant fool. It's distasteful.

About time. I'm on my second console. The first console sat out in nothing but open air and was only ever touched to put another disc in the tray. It still broke. MS sent me a refurb that has been haning in there pretty well, but I figure it will die eventually. It doesn't have the new heatsink fix they have been doing.

Obviously, this is a larger problem than some people would like to admit otherwise MS would never have bothered with this extended warranty.

You really are a troller and an idiot. Why do you stick up for MS (this huge company that could give two ****s about you) when they are ADMITTING they were WRONG.

I mean, honestly, what do you get out of this? I have never had a computer or console break on me, yet I am on my 3rd XBOX. I'm one of millions who have had issues with either the XBOX or 360. The common denominator is MS not us the users.

I have never had a Nintendo product break like this. MS knows they have a high failure rate. You are arguing with pure statistics. How about this: You can reply to this thread when you graduate middle school.

No they're not. This is going to cost them more than $1 billion. MS has lost several billion launching the XBOX and 360. They aren't close to making money on this project.

I don't think admitting you make inferior products is a good way to get more sales. A good way to get more sales is to make better products. The Wii is going to pass the 360 this year in sales.

I have an XBOX, but haven't gotten a 360 yet, largely due to the problems people have been having with it. I don't want to spend $400 on something that has a high failure rate, especially after two XBOXes broke on me and MS lost my XBOX for months while they were "fixing" it.

I really want Halo 3 and APF 2k8, but the more I hear about the 360, the less I want one, and it's entirely due to reliability.

What MS has managed to do is scare away countless customers by making a product that failed more than it should have. All electronics have a failure rate, but the 360 is ridiculous.
