"They want to hide the game, its not looking as good as people think, etc. etc. etc" whatever...
These guys are behind the game - old news - have they even seen any of the new stuff (gamespot, IGN, adweek?)
And I thought these guys had a copy of the game right now?!?!?!?

I'll admit I kinda like the energy "Wicked Yakka!" and "Day and Date, Day and Date" but when they start Soapboxing about stuff - (as we did 1 month) ago they need to have at least done their research...

They even complain about NCAA/MADDEN cheese plays (mentioning some 90 yard pass for a TD - despite him being in full prevent) - Yet they are bashing on 2K's game because of the friggin Box?!?!?!
Give me a break.

Negative we started bashing 2K's Marketing towards the end of June when pickings were extremely slim and had no indication they were planning a massive July Campaign - Since then theres been no bashing - we are fixing to hit full stride....
Unless their shows are recorded 1 week in advance and then released later they are clueless...

(sigh) thus again, its been proven along time ago that the 1up madden fanboys already know what they like and they hate. all i say is just be honest, sheesh one time ago they said that the "madden" bashing was getting old but yet they never practice what they preach, i stop taking these fools serious a loong time ago...mainly because they are bias, its ok if fans or customers are biased, but not the ones reviewing the game, they spend so much time trying to bring it down instead of just doing their job, which is just review the game, like Idn, GAMESPOT!!! seriously, its ok if your gonna get madden, its your money but all i ask is be fair, these podcasters have just started a new title that I have for them, just as you have Forum Trolls, now what you have is Podcast and gaming site trolls

Everyone that has bashed 2k Marketing including people on these boards owe 2k Marketing a apology IMO...
Let's see what we've got from last week:
New Trailer
Gamespot & IGN Hands-On
An announcement of a 5 part Promo Series in which 2 of the 5 series are already on you-tube & look HOT AS SHIZNIT
Announcement of a DEMO to hit marketplace hopefully next Thursday or Friday
With everything they've been dealing with(Head of Marketing leaving 2 weeks ago) I think they've done a helluva job

Why would you have bashed 2K's marketing for a Year and a Half, when APF was only announced in Janurary - maybe Feb?

they said that the game doesnt look as good as people thought it was gonna look, i think this is somewhat true with a lot of 2k fans, i remember people over hyping everything(three years will do that to you), including graphics, and i dont think it was a direct insult to the game's engine itself

1UP appears to be EA's b*tch site. I remember when they were like... they gave us an ipod or whatever with the demo... now we're giving it away to you. Sort of like how a visiting team hits an HR and you throw the ball back. I also remember them talking about the game... they sounded like a bunch of 10 year olds at a lollipop store discussing which flavor taste better. They were clearly trying to clown the game.

Sure that could be somewhat true .. but they are retards because they almost always state what is bad about 2k while stating what they like about Madden .. seems like they are trying to make 2k look bad or something.

Most people still don't understand that advertizing cost money. EA has a lot of it to spend and other companies don't and need to watch every penny. Its sad that crappy games do good when they have good marketing and good games do crappy when they have bad marketing. Although previews/ reviews are supposed to help companies that don't have deep pockets for advertizing. You still have the EA effect where if you give them a bad review they'll give exclusives and behind the scenes stuff to people who rave about their bad games.

If it was Madden showing Harrison catching a million passes they would say wow look at all those animations. Instead of realizing that it is showing that they have more than one silly animation, they just say it's not good.
The podcast sound old because they didn't seem to have seen gameplay at all.

Why would you have bashed 2K's marketing for a Year and a Half, when APF was only announced in Janurary - maybe Feb?
Well 2K's marketing really started to fall apart last year. Remember that they don't just make football.
Take baseball for example.
MLB 2K6 started off great. They had BLT (Big League Tuesday) where they would annouce new info every Tuesday leading up to the release of the game (starting 2 or 3 months prior). They would release new video's pictures and info on features including Q&A sessions with the developers. There was a reall line of communication between the fans and the developers.
Then all of a sudden, the BLT's went from being every week to every other week to every once in a while to damn near never.
There was about 10 Q&A sessions, where a mod would collect questions, present them to the developers and then post their responses. There was a session on everything from the new pitching mode to online leagues, etc. None of this happened for 2K7. There was no info from the development team. The last thing they ever posted was about the freeze glitch for 2K6.
So there is a history here where 2K used to be this real hands on company and used to pay a lot of attention to their customers. There used to be a lot of back and forth communication between the fans and the developers.
Then, all of a sudden, everything stopped. MLB 2K7 was the exact same as APF in the fact that there was no info given from 2K. Everything had to be found on other sites. There was no info period until about 3 weeks to a month before the game. And there was no word from the dev team. No BLT's, no Q&A sessions. Nothing.
The thing is that the way tha they used to market their product wasn't a costly one. It doesn't cost anything to post some videos on your site and take a few minutes to get some info from the developers. It just seems like they either got lazy or had someone take over that has a completely different idea of how the company should be ran.

that is a question i always wondered about...we have 2ksports.com and 2kfootball.com(i think)..so why is all the info always givin to these third party sites first?...i just figured u'd have info on a new game from you company on YOUR site first right?..or am i just looking to much into things?
