AP July 5, 2007--Real pro football has returned to the Carolinas and it is in the form of the Carolina Indians. Owner Paul Hill has bought a football franchise in the prestigous All Pro League, which features the greatest players of all time. "We're extremely pleased to be able to bring Charlotte and the rest of the Carolinas the greatest football experience on earth. The players we plan on bringing in are heroes.......men who play at the highest level.", says Hill.
The Carolina Indians will compete with the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League. Even though the NFL is still a premier football league, people have grown tired of it's bland play and money hungry, monopolistic practices. A beatuiful state of the art facility will be built just outside of Charlotte in Rock Hill, SC.....the scene of spacious mountains that will rekindle images of a strong Native American heritage. "We wanted to make the strong tradition of the Cherokee, Lundee, and Catawba tribes felt in the stadium. At the same time, we wanted a modern, state of the art facility. We think people are going to love it." Also huge news is the announcement of head coach, Orry Jones. Jones, 55, has over 30 years of coaching experience. He was outlawed out the NFL early because of his revolutionary coaching style. "Our team concept is based on one word-------playmakers. We want playmakers on all sides of the ball. Guys who are talented and have a superior feel of the game.......those guys in the backyard who everybody wants on there team.", says Pierce.
There was also a bit of surprise news today. The first player was signed to the Indians and announced. "Today we are pleased to announce the first signee of the Indians.", said Hill. "We feel like this guy can energize the fanbase and is perfect for what we want to do.", said Jones. "We really thought this position was the most important....so we thought Mr. Gale Sayers was an ideal choice."

St Paul, Minnesota, June 23rd, 2007
MwC Ziggs has announced he is bringing the APF to the Capital of Minnesota. Ziggs has stated that the time for football in St. Paul is overdue and the "other" pro team in Minneapolis had best be prepared to lose a majority of their so called fan base.
"That purple team across the river has been a major disapointment to it's fans and I'm here to let them know this new APF team will be what Minnesota has so dearly missed....a team for the blue collar fan, with a new state of the art outdoor staium to give the home team the advantage it will need in order to compete." said Ziggs
No team name has been announced as of this writing, but he did assure the media that there would be no reference to a Nordic tribe nor would team colors be purple and gold.
"We're going for a fresh new look that will make the fans happy and put the fear of god into our opponents." he said with a smile.
NFL owner Zigi Wilf is calling foul, "I suppose he (MwC Ziggs) is going to build his own stadium and not ask for tax payer money?"

If its one thing the Madden Community does right, its supporting their franchise story guys.
I was gonna make one because I love writing them but of course our 2K guys are not exactly excited about them were Madden fans have an entire sub-culture built around Franchise stories.
APF is perfect for a 'chise story because you have to detail your team history and all so I hope more people get interested in them so I can write one.

When I wrote my little news blurp I thought it would be kinda fun to hook up and form a relaxed, role play, sim league with other like minded gamers....but me thinks it would be tough to find 12-24 owners who would be interested.

The Carolina Indians are pleased to announce the signing of their next legend. "Again, we think this position is of great importance. We are very pleased with having a guy who is versatile at the QB position.", says head coach Orry Jones. "Steve Young is exactly what we want".

Vancouver Finally enters Pro Football
CAMPBELL CLARK
Globe and Mail Update
July 6, 2007 at 1:27 PM EDT
On July 17th, the APF will bring Football to Vancouver. Vancouver sports fans always wanted to cheer for their home city, but with the CFL and the B.C. (British Columbia) Lions it just couldn’t happen for them. Now, with approval of mayor Sam Sullivan and the collaboration of the All Pro Football, the dream is about to come true. The Vancouver Burn will burn their way into Vancouver and into the heart of the community with passionate play that will put the Lions to shame in this great region. Owner Kay Vaytch will do everything in his power to bring a championship to first overall pick Dan Marino, a title that has eluded him since the beginning of his career. ‘’With the Burn, our goal is to bring top quality football to the Vancouver area, none of this two down and punt boring league, we’re talking about real football, the kind that brings real excitement to the fans, we’re talking ironman football…And now comes our first overall pick, we are pleased to put all our money on this championship-hungry quarterback. With that we select from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dan Marino !’’ This was the first of many comment by GM and owner Kay Vaytch who looks ready to put a ring to Dan’s [Marino] finger. Dan himself seems ready to take the field again : ‘’I’m dying to get out there, I’m ready for a challenge and can’t wait to bring excitement to Canada and Vancouver and finally win a ring, not only for myself but to prove the doubters wrong and prove once and for all that I’m the real deal ! I AM NOT A CHOKER !’’ said a pumped up Marino looking straight at the reporters, it’s obvious that it’s not just about having fun for Dan, it’s about redemption.
Meanwhile the CFL are making it clear that they plan on interfering with the plans to bring another football team to British Columbia. Mayor Sullivan was quick to respond : ‘’We understand the way the CFL feels but we’re not talking about replacing the team or destroying the league, we want to give the fans a choice whether they want to see legends take the field in a classic US-Canada rivalry or see a Canadian league battle it out for Canadian supremacy. We are all about giving choices and we are not about to revoke the rights of the franchise to the APF.’’
Until proven otherwise the Vancouver Burn will take the field at the brand new KV Park on July 17th against an American team in a matchup that will put Dan Marino and second round pick Emmitt Smith against some stiff competition. For more details be sure to watch TSN and Sportsnet for more media coverage of the APF or visit APF.com for more details on schedules and lineups.
Of course the logo and names are subject to chance since we don't know what logos and names are available, but it'll probably look like that with the same color scheme.

Indians Sign player #3
AP---The Carolina Indians have been making noise with huge pickups such as Steve Young and Gale Sayers. But after two huge stars, what lesser players would they get. Have no fear says coach Orry Jones. "We think we have just signed the best all-around football player in the world.", said Jones. "Lenny Moore is a huge steal for us.......someone that can give defenses matchup problems all over the field. He is a great player who can return kicks, split wide, and even spell Gale at RB."

There's a lot more than that. Those are just the ones we know. There are somewhere between 150-200 names and logos to choose from in the game.

Carolina Focuses On Defense
With the first 3 Indians all offensive players, there are a contigent of fans left worried by head coach Orry Jones' focus on the team. That worry has been erased with the latest signing of the legendary safety, Jack Tatum.
"What can we say about Jack Tatum", spoke Jones. "Here is a guy who has played on winning teams and brings an attitude of excellence to our squad. We fully expect him to be a cornerstone to our D." Jones also revealed that he has signed defensive coordinator Bill Parcells. Parcells, who was present on Tuesday, has won 2 NFL titles with the New York Giants. "I just wanted to get back in the mix, but not necessarily as a head coach. I grew tired of the prima-donnas and the pretty boys of the other league. This league is real football", said Parcells. Parcells also revealed his scheme. "4-3 with a lot of confusion for the offense. I've had some success with the 3-4, but with the legends in this league, you got to be honest. These are the best players in the world and there are few weak links you can take advantage of with the 3-4."

Indians solidify offense
Head Coach Orry Jones made a very strong statement on Thursday as he announced the Carolina Indians latest signing. "He's may be the best athlete on our team", said Jones. That's a strong statement considering Lenny Moore, Jack Tatum, Steve Young, and Gale Sayers will all don Indian uniforms this fall. But when cornerstone tackle Rayfield Wright was announced as the Indians newest addition, few could argue with Jones' description. "His mobility impressed us so much", spoke Jones. "No question. We targeted him from the beginning. He's a guy who can beat Gale or Steve or Lenny to the goal line......and that's why we chose him as a cornerstone on our O-Line." With Wright's addition, many Carolina fans are expecting the Indians to put their share of points on the board. But Jones worries that his team will only be identified with offense. "Our D will be our foundation and we expect Bill(Parcells) to put guys in position to make plays."

Indians Look To Lett
In another big signing, head coach Orry Jones signed dominant DT Leon Lett. This is the second defensive selection behind superstar Jack Tatum. "It all starts up front", said Jones. "We want guys who get off the ball and disrupt the backfield and we think Lett is right up our alley in that department". With the addition of Lett, the Indians D is looking much stronger.
