Can you rent 360 console sin your town while you wait? On a side note. this is why I buy the warranty from EB or Gamespot. Just break em and bring them in.

Yup. ALWAYS get the extended warranty. Bring in your broken item; they give you a new one on the spot.

circuit city is the way to go, if your box breaks there is always a way to get a new one and just return it for all your money back.

You shouldn't have to buy an extended warranty. It's not the consumers fault that MS makes shoddy products. Well, I guess it is because people keep buying the 360.

The reason stores love extended warranties is that they make a ton of money off of them. It's pretty much a rip off. There are few things I'd buy one on, and a console is not one of them.

A console should not be so fragile that you feel forced to buy one. Thats the state MS has put consumers in. I had two original XBOXes break because MS bought really cheap DVD drives. Now, the 360 is even worse.

I agree that extended warrenties are generally a rip off, but this is one of the very few things I would buy one for. The failure rate is ridiculously high, and it takes like 6-8 weeks sometimes to get your console back. That makes the money I spent on the extended warrenty worth it to me.

Um, I'm pretty sure you meant to reverse that, because a 360 and a warrenty is still cheaper than a PS3.
