I've always wanted to get a video game community/review site going. Now that i'm getting a little older, I thought I would slowly try to get it started while learning HTML better than I currently do. Anyways, I thought it would be fun to test out my reviewing skills for an All Pro football 2k8 preview. Let me know what you think and give me feedback.

2ksports was knocked out of the football game market when EA bought the exclusive rights to the NFL and NFL player assocation. This was after NFL 2k5, the first NFL game that was really able to compete sales wise with the infamous Madden series. 2K tossed around many idea about what they could do to get back in the football game, but in the end decided on a game featuring legends that still maintained a modern feel to it.
All Pro Football 2K8 features over 240 legends, ranging anywhere from the likes of Barry Sanders and Dan Marino to Tony Martin and Tom Brookshier. Your teams' roster will feature a mix of 11 of these legends along with some "generic" players. The players are broken down into three different tiers(gold, silver and bronze) to not only differentiate the players, but to keep your team balanced as well. Your team will consist of 2 gold players, 3 silver players, as well as 6 bronze players.
Right when you pop in the game you will asked to start creating your team. This is where the games' customization comes into play. There are thousands of different possible combinations for your team. You will be able to customize every aspect of your team from the colors on the jerseys, to each individual stripe. There are over 100 logos to choose from, but after you choose your logo you can customize everything about it. There are also tons and tons of different possible cities and team names that you can choose. Once you create your team, the game generates a code so you can share it with your friends and let them use your uniform, down to the smallest detail, without much hassle.
Alright, now you've created your team. What else can you do? You may or may not have heard, this game does not have a franchise mode. It was originally thought that it was because of the difficulty of coming up with an authentic franchise mode in a game that features retired players from different eras, but later confirmed that it was because of time constraints. It will feature a quick play mode, a season mode, and possibly the most robust online mode of any sports game out there. You remember all of those combinations for your team? Well you will be seeing all of those when you play this game online, since you can take your created team online. Say goodbye to the days of playing the same two or three teams every time, now it's a new experience literally every time.
Now, last but not least, how is the game on the field? 2k games are always known for theire gameplay, and this is no dfiferent. There is about 200% more animations in this game than there were in 2K5(a game where people claim to still be seeing new things, 3 years later), and they replaced about 60% of the animations from 2k5. This game is all about the realism in gameplay, and without the NFL there are no restrictions on what they can do. This doesn't mean over the top gameplay(A.K.A.- Blitz) but rather showing real football, including the things the NFL wouldn't allow. Presentation is lacking a bit when compared to 2k5, but that is partly because of the new "Field Pass", a feature that puts you down on the field all the player chatter and smack talk. Dan and Peter, possibly the greatest sports videogame duo ever, return to this game. Graphics, while not being as amazing as 2k5 was(for it's time), are pretty good. The texture on the jerseys are amazing. I would reccomend this game for anyone looking for a great game of FOOTBALL.
