It's tough to judge because you have to factor in offline play:

Gameplay: 10
Online: 10
Offline: 6.5 (no franchise, I don't care personally but it must be accounted for. It could be lower, but the customization knocks it up a notch.)
Sound: 9
Graphics: 8
Presentation: 8

Its hard for people to be "objective" sometimes when they just dropped $60 on a game. For some, they have to convince themselves that it was worth it. Others bash it because it is so apparently lacking in areas. Kind of like a chic who is sexy as hell to some, while being a complete turnoff to others. But she doesn't seem to fit into anyones "middle range".

I agree you can't please everyone...... some people like ***e and hate Pepsi and vice versa..... This game is getting lots of love and rightly so but everyone has an opinion.
I know I'm loving it and don't know when I'll get a chance to play NCAA 08 again!! APF is that good to me!!

8.5 I love the gameplay. but I can't get it to 9 without being able to pick everyplayer on my team. Franchise in otherwords. Also the Trophy room is horrible, bring back the crib! Honestly I still would have much rather had no legends and complete customization. But with all that I'm still hyped that the game play is as good as it is. I'm just hoping for 2k9 that a lot of long lost features come back. I don't like posting all the negetive stuff but that is the reason its an 8.5 and not a 9 imo.

The lack of modes is the only thing holding this back and honestly, if you gave 2k5 a 9.5 or a 10 with all of its many modes and options, then 8.5 is about right for 2k8 without them.

it's going to get boring fast for an offline guy (me)
didn't see one injury in 5 games
the stadium features aren't all they were built up to be (saw ONE stadium animation in 5 games)
the menus are generic...not easy to tell which menu option you're on
can't view in game injury statuses in Gameplan (maybe because ZERO injuries in 5 games)
lack of editibility for non created players...ZERO actually
sideline interraction very limited thus far


plenty of good stuff, but too much lacking to score better at this point.
i guess that MAY change in a few weeks or something?

by then i'll be picking up Madden to supplement 2k8.

8.2. Graphics (heads & arms) bring the score down. Is this the same company that makes NBA2K? Lack of nuances that made 2K5 great also bring it down. But boy, is it fun to play!

If the title of this game were:

All Pro Football 2K8 Online i'd give it a 9. Points off because the graphics are average at best for a 360 game.

Since the title is actually:

All Pro Football 2K8 I give it a 7. It's an imcomplete game with the lack of modes for offline play.

I'm still liking it, as the gameplay is great. It's just not complete.

7.9 I think the gameplay is a great representation of football, the players are fairly smart and they react naturally. The Graphics as I've stated in my other thread are just bad... I think even bringing over nfl 2k5's graphics engine and making it HD would have been better than the graphics on this game. The sound is good for the crowd the announcers repeat themselves alot. The tackles sound a little too unrealistic as far as some times you don't hit someone that hard and you get a real loud sound. The presentation is not as good as it once was even with no espn they could have been like nba 2k6 which had great presentation after the first year of no espn. I just think the game needs graphical work and re-fining I'm actually sad I paid 60.00 for this game but not as sad as I was when I heard there was no 2k.
