I love 2K but this game is SOO Trash seriously!

I waited 7 months for this release. I buy the game yesterday and I go home to play on my 360. After i press start and start playing the game after all the custom stuff, I saw the gameplay. LADIES AND GENTLEMAN NO LIE, MY GIRL WALKED IN THE LIVINGROOM AND ACTUALLY SAID, " STEVE LET ME FIND OUT YOU WIPED THE DUST OFF YOUR PS2 NOW. "WHATS WRONG? YOU GOT TIRED OF PLAYING WITH YOUR 360?"

I said to her " No Babe, this is the APF2k8 I was talking about." MIND YOU PEOPLE SHE DOESN'T PLAY VIDEO GAMES LIKE THAT! AND SHE NOTICED HOW CRAPPY THE GAME LOOKED. I'm sorry but I felt like crying after I played this game. I said "noooooo not another year of bad football. Homestly I love 2k with my heart but NBA 2k7 and all the others even NFL 2k5 is better than this release. Now don't bad mouth me because I'm an Anti madden Guy. But J Christ man..... what the hell... 2k should have waited another year to prepare instead of rushing this product.... I have faith in 2k but man does this upset me to no end!

I dont know what game you got bro, but my game is gorgeous.

Unless you have a 1986 panasonic TV, then the graphics should be great.

Keep in mind, you probably have to have a HD TV to feel the full affect, but what did you expect? The detail to each player is phenominal. The jerseys look like real mesh. ( Or whatever material they use.)

I say try a HD tV then get back to us bro. No hating here for opinions, but you must have gotten NCAA on accident.

I feel you and all. But graphics have to compliment gampeplay. Remember I love 2k foreal! But ok I don't have HD tv but I should still be able to play a nice game. FIGHT NIGHT r 3 had incrediblle graphics even if you didn't have HD. It's not just graphics it's the tackling, and sound effects as well. I'm dissapointed. They need to make the graphics like NBA 2k7 or something needs to give. Plus i found myself bored after the 2nd half

Thats the trade-off. 2K8=OK graphics with phenominal animations. NCAA 08: Phenominal graphics with ok animations.

I agree with you. I'd give these graphics a 5. Now if the graphics were on the level of what we see when we go to replay then I'd give the graphics a 9.5. This was what I was talking about all along when the first trailer came out. Some things looked like replay and some things looked like they were an inferior lesser game. And I think it holds true. Look at the replays and you will see some amazing detail on the models. But then go to regular game and it looks very average. Secondly, the lack of field depth really makes it look worse. The grass could have made it look a hell of alot better, but as it stands to me that's one of the things that make the game look pretty bad. And before anyone talks stuff about a TV I'm on a 47 inch Samsung HDTV.

It really does depend on the TV that you're using. Also, mess with your video options. It makes a TON of difference. For example, my roommate has a 32" VISIO LCD display which has a really nice clear picture when connected to his HD box. He bought the game for his PS3 and there were jaggies all over the game. His initial reaction was, "WTF?".

I being the videophile that I am, I went in and adjusted his color settings/balance accordingly and made some changes in his PS3 settings as well. After I was done it made a world of difference.

I have a 50" Samsung DLP and it comes with about 4 different color settings to accommodate whatever it is your viewing (DVD, HDtv, games).

Bottom line, the animation, and attention to detail that 2K has put into this game is bar-none the best in a football game. Until Madden releases their patch next month (sarcasm :) ) I'll be playing this for a long time. Can't wait to get online! :dance:

I would say overall Madden and NCAA look better, but APF actually has some things that look much better than in those games, namely:

The fans
The players body shapes are much more accurate IMO
The players faces

The only complaint you have is about the graphics. If graphics is all you care about get madden. 2k has superior animations which I value far more than graphics.

Gameplay wise it's fine so far for me...

Some people are just madden fans, others are so used to 2k looking better they are in shock. Granted 2k8 looks so much better in motion than any football game to date and even 2K5 look better in motion than any EA FB game to date.

There are somethings on my standard TV that I noticed right away could use work (Side "lines" and the fields). also madden and 2k look like from a distance last gen but up close maddens body structure and face texture looks better but 2ks outfits look more detailed. People on the sidelines in Madden also have more detail but they have no where near the animation of 2k8. Its give and take, Maddens been working on a next Gen football for 3 years now, 2k only a year and madden still doesnt have alot of the suttle things that really make 2k seem so real once you notice them (interactive sidelines, and realtime injuries).

Yeah, 2k used to be hands down the best in graghics, motion and suttle details back in the days. They still have the motion and suttle details but being two year behind madden on next gen its struggling to really compete with what madden has done overall in graghics.

Does 2k look better than 2k5 1.5, heck ya does it look like an early next gen game, heck ya. But does the 2k football team learn quickly how to use a new system quicker than madden, Heck YA! So support a good looking game with outstanding gameplay and next year we will see what 2k can really do. Also, didnt 2k add over a 1000 animations from 2k5 and maddens added like 200 since 05, Hmm think about that.

Ok....the graphics are NOT great. They are ok, but they are not great. The animation, gameplay, sound, ect are great. Graphics are not. But I still am loving it though.

NCAA 08 revamped the player models this year and I must say, they are dead on. I think people who are comparing NCAA to 2K are comparing NCAA 07 instead of 08. That "Roided Out" look got rediculous looking after a while in 07, but in 08, you have beanpoles, lean athletic types, fat-but-fast Warren Sapp types, Sean Taylor types, Devin Hester types...every body type seems to be covered.

Now, as far as the fans, 2K owns that department.

Players faces. Once again, its a matter of taste. Some people like dramatic accuracy, while others want the true-to-life picture perfect variety.

Now, to the topic at hand. Graphics don't make a game, really. I have been playing a lot of the Zelda oracle games and the Mega Man Xtreme series on GBC while I wait for the APF 2K8, and despite the fact that they aren't the best looking (especially the Mega Man games), I get a lot of fun out of them, and that's what really matters.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm repeating what's already been said, but I had to get in my 2 cents. :)

I found your problem Antono.....the game itself on HDTV I admit is not up there with FN3 or GEARS but it is still a good looking game....zoomed in you can see some extreme detail....but during gameplay as in NCAA or Madden it is not as good looking.

So on a Standard TV....I can feel you on it not looking good at all...almost unplayable. I say try and either get a HD TV or play it a friends house on a good HDTV in 1080.

I am playing this game on an HDTV, 47 in Samsung and in my library this game is the worse looking one. As I said in another thread, if the real time graphics were that of the replays this game would easily be one of the better looking games except for the grass. The grass plays a part in the game looking bad. It's like they are playing a a green sheet of cardboard.

The graphics definitely could be better. I am running in 1080i on a 44 inch and they are pretty good imo. If your playing without HD, or on a lesser resolution, I could imagine it being painful.
