will you still buy madden this year even though this game is tight? I am not sure if I will, I do want to play with nfl teams THis **** sucks, When does this exclusive EA mess end? what year. And do you think the NFL will allow others such as 2k to get in on the license deal or will they forever dedicate themselves to EA. Also you think there is any chance 2k can get the exclusive nfl rights when this is all up? or will the "MADDEN" name make them sell out to EA again?

NFL is going to renew that contract with EA.
F*ck Madden, I'll never buy a game made by EA.

I think what I will do is wait for a while to see all the complaints that come up about it. Im sure there will be alot. That is what I was going to do for APF but I was feenin for my football and I took a chance with it, Looks like I made the right decision. BTW not to get off subject but I used to love EA's NBA LIVE back in the day, Now it is just a joke, Why do they still make that game, and who the hell actually plays it? Now back to our reguarly scheduled POSt WIll you buy madden????

I don't think I will. Madden was oK when 2K didn't have a next gen football game, but now that they do, I think I would get really bored playing it. I definitely won't be buying NCAA 7.5

Heck No, I gave up on Madden year ago. I may go to my friends that bought madden for the last 2 years, and returned it in a week. He says he aint buying it this year, but he still might.

It depends on what they improved on. If they revamped player models, added ALOT of new animations (with the ability to break out of them), and improved on the atmosphere, then it would be a step in the right direction. As much as people yell and scream about the NFL license, it is the most redundant thing in sports. Without the "NFL Feel", it gets yellow quick. Madden needs to inject some drama into the series so that these players come to life, rather than remain cookie cutter knock-offs of the real life counter part.
If Madden injected:
Pre and Post Game Analysis
TV Style presentation (in the mold of College Hoops)
Interviews
Better stadium atmosphere
60 FPS!!!!
Then Madden will not come across so stale and redundant.

I will buy Madden, but while playing I'm going to be like "the animations on that play looked alot better in 2k8" or "the TD catches looked better in 2k8". It's going to be frustrating.
It's too bad they couldn't have a game that had the graphics, franchise, NFL teams/players from Madden, and had the animations and gameplay from 2k8 in ONE FREAKIN GAME. Sigh.

i hope they added some of the stuff that we see in APF like
-crowd movement
-referees
-chain gang
The player intros looked cheesy and the gameplay looked exactly the same as last year/ But they still have that wack *** radio dude. I don't know TOMMY I hope its not the same game as last year with a VInce young on the cover and Updated rosters.

Yeah 1up....the site that gave the game we all are starting to love a measily 6.5. I dont trust what any sites say nowadays!!
After month of playing APF2k8....I think I will PASS on Madden 08. I know the play of it will lean towards more arcade action and I will be firmly into APF in 4 weeks....that trying too play Madden will be HARD to do.
I will play a demo if the release one~!!!! May change m mind~~

I will be buying Madden, but I plan on buying it as a previously-played game so that EA Sports gets nothing from my purchase. If every 2kSports fan would wait for Madden to come out as a previously-played game, then I think we'd send a message to the NFL and to EA Sports. Waiting to buy like this ensures that EA Sports sells fewer copies of their game and helps show a closing of the gap between 2kSports and EA Sports that the NFL could observe.
(I know it's idealistic to think that we'd all wait patiently for a few weeks or even months to get Madden, but the NFL season doesn't even start for 6+ weeks after the game comes out, so maybe we could all wait!)

If the running on madden is still like Running on a Hockey field and getting sucked out of bounds by a force field then EA and madden can go to hell. The running on madden is pathetic.

If EVERYBODY waited to buy the game used... that would create quite a paradox, wouldn't you say?
EA will not get any money from me until they can prove to me the game is worth it. I don't need the NFL, but would like a franchise mode. I will rent the game (I like to have an open mind) and put it through it's paces. But even if I end up liking it, I probably wouldn't get it until the price was lower (IE: used)

The best football game is Madden 07 for PC. Except for some reason they won't let the PC version have the next-gen graphics. Anyone who has played the PC versions can attest that it is a completely different game from the sorry console versions. Almost everything that people complain about for the console versions do not exist on the PC version (they even have FG nets on the PC version)
If Madden 08 for 360 is improved and like the PC version then I'll get it, otherwise, I'll stick with Madden 07 (which I just bought for $8) and will go to footballfreaks.com to get a 2008 updated roster.

I planned on buying all 3 games this year but when I played apf after trying ncaa 08, I decided not to buy ncaa because I thought apf was so much better with the gameplay, animations, and most importantly a lot more fun.
I'll probably rent madden and if it's fun, I'll buy it. They seriously need to work on their tackling system..it looks like it's still ages behind 2k's as is their collision detection. Guys can still be tackled buy a guy lying on the ground and the guy on the ground didn't even put up an arm..and the ball carrier will go flying backwards.

I didn't say that everyone should wait to buy it...only those who are 2kSports fans. There will be literally hundreds of thousands of fans buying Madden over APF. If the APF fans would wait patiently for a few weeks or months, then tens of thousands of those original owners will start trading in their games and a secondary market for Madden 08 will emerge.

Not that it will make much difference to me right now as my computer can barely play the LAST Madden game I bought. Madden 2001 (Eddie George's downfall.). But I'm still curious.

I'll play the DEMO, I am not buying it though. My friend is a Madden head but doesn't have 360, he says he will get it, just for us to compare. I never play Madden but I played him 3 times on PS2 and litterally kicked his *****. He was so used to the un-sim play that is madden it was rediculous. It was Michael Vick all over the place and 4th and 25 this and that. I shut Vick down and it was curtains. Anyway to answer the original question

Really the one for PC is really good, plus there is an editor that you can get for it where you can change coaches, coaching style, team names, characteristics, players, pretty much everything.
I am running it in what equates to 720p on my LCD HDTV and it looks great. And of course on the PC it runs at a smooth 60 fps at all times.
www.football-freaks.com has people who do accurate updates after the draft, before the season, including coaching changes. I love it.
So for me, 2k8 for my 360 and madden 07 PC v.2 for NFL!

I agree, APF is a very fun game to play. Last years Madden was terribly boring and had so many issue with the gameplay. Fun is the most important feature for me and APF delivers.

I will NOT buy madden and support a monopoly... they haven't changed much in the game anywayz, madden 2006 is better than 2008, how does that happen?
