I hope you like APF 2k8 because I don’t think we are getting another football game from 2k unless it’s an NFL game. Personally, I think it’s an outstanding game but that’s just me. Too many people coming on the forums with negative statements about the game (Some more valid than others). The point is if you have someone on the fence about buying the game coming to this forum solidifies his or her decision (they wont buy APF). I know what 2K sports bring to the table, but for someone who doesn’t its just not good. I have never followed a game this closely before, with forums and reviews ECT. Is this normal? Is this what takes place on forums days after a game is released?

Yep. You should go to Xbox.com forums for Forza, PGR any of the big name games, everyone of them have flame wars and jack-a%%es that come on and trash the game, no matter what they came out with some people were going to trash it anyway. I am with you, I like the game, I am not that good, but I have a blast playing it, that's what it boils down to for me, is it fun? Graphics, yeah I like eye candy but it does me no good if I don't like the game. I am hoping they stay in the market with their product, I kind of like not having the NFL rights, it gives them more freedom to create and innovate I think.

Yeah ... this is pretty much par for the course on any forum. There is always more whining and complaining instead of anything good being said. Typically, the people who are annoyed are the most vocal while the other people mind their own business.

This game isn't anywhere near done .... though still the best football game on the market ... so I hope it sells well enough to convince 2K to make another, even better one.

Yea, only thing that truly matters if another game comes out or not is sales, and I know for a fact that sales have been going pretty good considering all the people who play online.

It is normal...people that dont like the game always come to ***** about it. The ones that are really satisfied are playing the game, or sharing what they have done with the game. they dont have to jump up and down saying how great the game is...while those that dont like feel like we all care about what they say.

If people base their purchase of off what they read on a forum...then they shouldnt deserve a good game. All games have backlash after they are released. I'm sure people will complain when Halo 3 and GTA 4 drop, but that doesnt mean a lot of people dont like it.

You didn't see it coming before the game came out? ppl are looking for perfection in a video game, that alone is funny....

I actually totally disagree with you here dude. Most of the people "trashing" this game fall into one of three categories. 1.) they don't even have it 2.) Madden supporters trying to wreak havoc 3.) have only played 1-2 games and are making their final reviews without even learning it or giving it a decent chance.

This move to put out 2K8 was ingenius in my opinion. 240 Legends on the first try? I guarantee you once other legends see the success of this idea and see how bright the future is, this series will go on forever. And If I were 2K and the NFL tried to crawl back on their hands and knees to have 2K make an NFL game...I'd ask for MUCHO MUCHO DINERO.

The end? Quite opposite my friend...This is just the beginning

Mehhh regardless of whether there are negative posts on here or not, this forum is not the entire world. It's a small piece of the people who will buy the game. There will be several consumers that buy this game that have never even heard of 2ksports.com. So fire away with the criticisms as long as they are legit. 2k needs to see these things so that they can fix them.

There are flamers and there are honest critics. Please be able to separate the two. I have the game, despise Madden as a series, and have spent hours upon hours now on this game alone (as seen from the teams I've tried to replicate). But I'm not going to drink the kool aid and say this game is "amazing oh boy oh boy"! We'd all be doing it a disservice if we ignored its shortcomings and gave it a pass.

For you parents out there, if your son came home with a D-minus on his report card, you sit him down and say, "That is unacceptable. You need to improve." You don't pat him on the head and say, "Great job!! And as long as you beat that other kid, EA, you're doing swell!!"

I can list some of the things I'm not thrilled with about APF 2k8, but overall, I think its a good game (not great), and happy to own it.

I am a Madden fan but I have to say after playin NCAA 08 after 2 days I thought it was 2 slow on the PS3 version graphics were very good but game play to me was terrible, so I am hoping that madden 08 is better I just wish the could incorparate the graphics from next gen and place it over top the PS2 madden gameplay and they would have the perfect game. But I have to tell you that this 2K8 is a good game I like the game and will play this until madden 08 comes out anf if madden 08 sucks like maddeon 07 for the PS3 I will trade that in for the PS2 versionand play 2K8 for the PS3 and madden 08 for the PS2. The game play is smooth and the way the QB moves is realistic, I have the game speed on fast and this is perfect for me any other setting is to slow. I hope Madden 08 for the PS3 plays this fast and smooth and they would have the best NFL game out on the market. 2K8 I give this game a 8.0 when I figure out how to user catch it will go upto 9.0. I gave madden 07 for the PS3 a 4.0 that was mostly graphics because the gameplay sucked.

True That......... there will be a APF 2K9.
This game will sell very well once word of mouth spread and people start looking for a different football experience other then NCAA or Madden. I hope the DEMO is tight. That alone will should sell 1000's of copies.

i really think that if they can keep all the legends they have and try to get more... then they should drop a game on us every other year, that would give them more time to add new team logos stadiums, larger playbooks, and hell if they have more time to sit back and refine everything then they can kick the graffics up a tad. i love this game and it runs soo smooth! i think that if they do it every other year it wont get stale and they have time to iron out some really great ideas!

Look at the amount of postings on this APF 2K8 forum compared to MLB 2K7, NHL 2K7, and College Hoops 2K7 forums. More than MLB, twice as many as NHL, four times as many postings as College Hoops. (Although NBA 2K7 is their crown jewel.)

If the number of postings is at all proportional to sales, this game might be doing OK.

I think we will see another game. Some have said it might be every other year (where did that meme rise?).

I hope that there are more people like me who see it and get the game.

I am not a huge football nut. I don't watch any on tv or anything. The last football game I really played was Madden...98, yes 98 :p.

The reason I got apf2k8 was for the legend aspect and creating your own teams, etc. Then after playing it a while I just love it and can't put it down.

People can talk smack all day long, but there will be a game next year. Also, many Madden fans will be picking this up as a guilty pleasure...it will be irresistible to most of them after they play it.

2k has surpassed what I thought they could do with this game...I can't stop playing it...and the madness has just begun.

I estimate that I will play about 300 offline games at 9 or 10 minute quarters, and hopefully another 100 to 200 online.I traded in some good non-sports games for this, because there just won't be time for them.Hopefully I can find time for NBA2k8 and a little MLB action.Hockey lookin' good too, although that is one I will wait to hear about first before buying.

Yet madden has continued to suck major sand in the gameplay dept, with all the money EA make from madden each year they still don't do anything.

Pretty sad they decide to get off the butts when 2K made their announcement of their gridiron comeback.....

There WILL be a sequel to 2K8 FB. 2K/VC couldn't put in half the stuff they wanted in 2K8... and they are flowing with ideas for the sequel. Plus... all the modes and stuff will be in the sequel with even cooler gameplay elements. This "Legends" theme can work... but 2K needs to get some cooler modes and more impact on the League itself. THey need to be creative and make a Franchise mode that rocks and isn't about raising Nachos prices.
2K9 or whatever the sequel is MUST get more Legends... and more Big names! Terry Bradshaw, Joe Namath and Jim Brown would be good starts. The no name lineman is LAME!

Wrong. Most here are saying positive things, or are raving about the game. And almost everyone on OS is praising the game up and down.

It's all about 2K announcing the next game in the series, be it APF 2K9, APF 2K10, or NFL 2K10. Criticism is fine, complements are fine... but bottom line is the sales of 2K8.

Hey that is my line about the categories.
From the post I've responded to most of them just haven't taken the time to learn the game.

I had a rough time at first with kicking, but rather than play a game and continue to be frustrated I went into practice mode to get it right.
I spend most of my time in practice mode because after my first game I realized there were a lot of things I had to learn. I even put up one Reelmaker file.

With a successful release many veterans who didn't come onboard will definitely give it a second thought. Hopefully they won't get involved with any exclusive deals.

Its a small percentage but people who don't know any better will think the game isn't that good based on what they see posted in these forums. Most of us are playing the hell out of this game and not taking the time to fight these bad posts.

Well, i think that 2ksports are going to go after the NFL with this title. Showing what can be done correctly in a football console game. But i think there might not be another APF 2k8. On gamespot they asked 2ksports if they are already at work for next years edition and have plans for APF 2k9. And the statement was....silent....!!! He did not respond at all. HE would not give a yes or no or maybe? I hope they go after the NFL license for this next year game. I know EA has it wraped up for 2010 but who knows what will happen. I did not see it coming for EA to snatch up the NFL License when they did. Time will only tell.

We all expect this game to be the greatest thing ever and it failed the gameplay is great just feel like something is missing well alot no franchise?, I have to pay for reel maker?, the talking sucks same as 2K5 but i play the game like crazy my cousin brought a 360 after playing it so it's ok but we know it could and will be great next year work hard people.
