Uhmm can we tone down late hits?!

Seriously, I mean the game boasts gang tackles, but sometimes I go in to help on a tackle and the guy gets brought down while I'm in mid air of my dive and I hit him as he falls to he ground and its a late hit... WTF? Then I have to listen to the retarded announcers talk about it.... OH did you see that?! OH yeah.. LATE HIT.. WOW.. blah blah blah.. .wish I could go up in the booth and ***** slap them.

But seriously... I'm afraid to help on a tackle now because this is happening too often.

I always laugh when I commit a late hit. It's just funny watching my guy in mid air plop down on top of the fallen ball carrier only to see a yellow flag come out...it's kinda ridiculous...but funny

I haven't had it happen so often that it is becoming annoying yet. Every so often I get called for it.

Hell, I do it on purpose sometimes. Like the receiver who stepped out of bounds and continued up field..... yeah, the safety took care of him :D

Me neither I have been busted one time. Besides I like hitting them too much to stop even if I was getting whistled each time. I love the hits in this game. My RB got crushed last night by Deacon Jones in an offline game against the CPU

I've seen two out of about 20 games. I got called for a late hit after the team scored a TD, it was fair, but I had no clue that added that. I got a kick out of it.

Then, just last night, the computer got flagged for one against me, but it was a total BS call. Rod Woodson had perfect coverage, but I made the perfect throw and he tackled me as soon as I made the catch and they threw the flag. I didn't like it because you should always deliver the hit if your in position like that.

I've only seen it once because I'm usually the one making the tackles. If my cpu teammates make a tackle I usually don't try to dive in and help them unless the guy is like at goalline and he is still moving toward the endzone.

You know I wouldn't have so much of a problem with it if it didn't take SOOOOOO long to talk about it, then for the ref to signal it then for the 15 thousand replays of it... I just wanna play the game, I really don't care about presentation at all. I wish there was a way to just skip all this crap.

Yeah, some of these are a bit absurd. I dove for the endzone and was hit while in mid air, and the other fellow was flagged. C'mon... I went up in the air knowing full well he was coming. I'd like to see those fixed.

They may not address this problem, though. The game case promotes late hitting as a feature, though I have no idea why.

late hits might need to be tweaked a little... but yeah... now... i'm trying to let the play finish without getting a late hit.

I've only gotten a late hit penalty twice out of about 17 games now.

I agree that the late hits go off way too frequently in online games where I am just trying to make a tackle and get there a fraction of a second too late.

They really should just increase the window of time before you can get called for this penalty.

I think it's sorta lame, because like my LB will totally blast somebody, but i'm diving at him at the same time with my CB, and since he's already on his back when my CB hits him it's a late hit.

This late hit crap is BS. You don't even mean to, and out pops the yellow. The whole purpose of late hit in real life is because it is dangerous--in a video game, are they seriously trying to enforce that?
I hit him late in a video game! Punish me!

Yea. I had a problem with late hits as well. In the beginning, I would maybe average around 3-4 a game. But I made the adjustment of just backing off and letting the CPU finish the tackle. Takes some discipline to get there, but you'll eventually will.

depending if you're playing online or offline, you can always set the Penalty sliders to reduce the Late Hit calls.
i'm playing offline/Season and get probably 3-5 late hits per game by hitting X that one extra time. no worries there for me, though. i like the late hits.

what gets me more upset is when i hit the X that one extra time and i go into No Huddle/Spike the ball formation right away. that ticks me off more than late hits cuz i gotta use a timeout to get out of it.

When I'm going in for a team tackle I just run into the guy, don't give at him.

Never had this problem cept maybe once a game where I dived right as another guy was tackling him and it called a late hit on me even though I was already in the air when they were still fighting.
