Is there a way to shift formations at the line of scrimmage?

I seem to remember this beinga feature but can not find anything about it in the manual.

I know you can do a fake formation. When choosing a formation hold the right trigger (at least on xbox) on the formation you want to start out with, then choose the formation you want your play in (while still holding), then let go, and choose your play. When you get out of the huddle, press A and the team will switch formations, then a again for the hike.

I did it yesterday. Change from split back formation to shotgun split back formation at the line of scrimmage. But, honestly i don't know how i did it. But it is possible.

I kind of feel like they did not finish the manual. Not enough description of pre-snap adjustments

To do this go into the play call screen. Go to the formation you want to use as a mask. Hit the R Trigger. Then go to the formation and play that you want to call. Then when you get to the line of scrimmage press A to hike, your offense will shift to the formation and play you called. Then make your adjustments and hike the ball.

It's actually much more complete than 99% of the game manuals that come with X360 games. They really skimp on the instruction booklets these days.

It's only useful for formation shifting down.

Like say, from Gun Split into Split , If you audible up you won't move your RB's into WR spots, it will put in two Wr's instead.

The thing I don't like about it is that it takes too long. I wish that when you got up to the line and pressed A, your guys would be moving by the time the QB said something. The way it works though it just sounds like an audible. I just like, for example, when watching the Steelers, they may come out in a two TE set only to move into a strong I formation. They do it quickly though to throw off the defense. In this game it seems a little too sluggish and not really worth the effort. And I like the game manual, it gives a lot of info, but I wish they put it in list form and not paragraph. It's easier to get information that way
