Here it is guys, the Top 5 WR's of All-Time. If you like it you should also check out my Top 5 QB's and RB"s of All-Time threads! Please discuss the list and leave your own! Thanks!:

#1. Jerry Rice: How could I not have him as number one? He is by far the greatest reciever in football history and possibly the greatest football player of all-time. He holds just about every recieving record possible, he also holds the record for Touchdowns (207) beating Emmitt Smith by 32 scores. He helped the San Fransisco 49ers win three Superbowls, and was a very durable and tough player, playing in 20 seasons and missing only 17 games!! Last but not least he is also a great dancer, and pretty much made "Dancing with the Celebrities" a popular show.

#2. Lance Alworth: He was the first great reciever and truly defined the position. By today's standards his statistics may not be impressive but in his era of run, run, run they where astronomical. Some would argue that he is the best reciever of all time because of his statistics even though teams where known to run 50 times per game in that time. He holds the record for most games with over 200 yards recieving (5) and most consecutive games with a catch (96), these records again being more amazing when considering his era.

#3. Cris Carter: An often overlooked reciever because of his off-field problems early-on in his career and being overshadowed by Jerry Rice, Cris Carter was one of the best recievers to ever step on a football field. He is one of only four recievers with over 1,000 receptions and was very close to getting the record for most receptions. Cris was one of the main weapons in the 1998 record breaking Minnesota Vikings offense and single handedly tutored Randy Moss through his first few seasons. With a combination of amazing hands and lightning quick speed Cris Carter is the third best reciever of all time.

#4. Lynn Swann: Swann was a combination of not only a great reciever but a great special teams player too. Although his career was only 8 years long he helped the Pittsburgh Steelers win four Superbowls. The highlight of his career though was his first Superbowl against the Dallas Cowboys, he caught seven passes for 124 yards and scored the game winning touchdown to lead the Steelers to victory with a final score of 35-31.

#5. Fred Biletnkoff: He is one of the main staples of the Oakland Raiders franchise helping it gain it's "Bad Guy" image. Fred was famous for smoking at times two packs of ciggarettes on game day's and still being able to preform at the high level that he did. He lead the Raiders to a Superbowl win in Superbowl XI and was named the games MVP. Although Fred is not a statistical beast compared to todays recievers he was incredible in his time similair to Lance Alworth. Fred is undoubtably one of the best recievers of All-Time and grabbed fifth place on my list.

There you go! Please discuss and leave your own lists! Thanks!

P.S. Anyone have any ideas for my next list?

I say DE for your next list, or secondary players in general.

Rice is obviously number one, and I don't know enough about all the old guys to make my own list. I would say Raymond Berry could be up there. Only fumbled once in his career and was Unitas' main man. Marvin Harrison by the end of his career could stir some things up as well.

If Marvin Harrison retired after this season with another 1,000+ recieving yard season he would be #5 ahead of Fred. And yah, I'm debating right now about DB's or LB's next, I'll have a DE list done by the end of the week though! I'm happy you guys are liking the lists also! Thanks for the support!

I like your list....I'd have to give honorable mention to Tim Brown and Michael Irvin (because he changed the way the game was played).

Irvin? No way. Paul Warfield before Irvin for sure

Like my RB list my WR list won't include guys who I haven't seen play in games. Historic highlight shows don't count. So no Swan, Biletnikoff or Berry:

1) Rice - Career yds: 22,895. (Next best:14,934 Tim Brown.) All time TD's:197. (next best:130 Chris Carter).
Holy Cow!!! Find another sport's statistical all-time leader where the #1 guy almost DOUBLES every other person that ever played. And he's not just about longevity. He still holds the record for most yds in a season (1848) and most TD's in a season (22). He is undoubtedly, unarguably, the GOAT!

2) Terrell Owens - the playmaker! As good as he is, he's under-rated statistically. He's already #16 for all time yds. With 1060 yds this season he will leapfrog into the top 10. 80 catches will put him at #8 all time (he's #16 right now) and he's already at #4 for TD's. Despite his attitude problems his QB's still find him because he is probably the greatest WR threat of his era with the ball in his hands.

3) Marvin Harrison - the consumate professional. So good you don't even notice. Makes it look too easy. His consistency and his combination of speed, elusiveness, great hands and route running are all-world. But he has disappeared in some of the most important games of his career and can be shut down by an aggressive, physical corner.

4) Chris Carter - got better as he got older. Seemed undefendable in the red-zone. Super clutch and, eventually, became super consistent. #2 in TD's (130) and receptions, #4 in yds all-time.

5) Sterling Sharpe - dominated while he played. The original Terrell Owens, minus the attitude. Led the league in receptions 3 times, TD's twice, and YDS once, in his 7 year career (competing against Rice in his prime). And did it on the "Frozen Tundras" of Lambeau field. Career cut very short by injury.

Please do Dline as your next list. DE or DT, Dline is my favorite position in all of football to watch.
