people are going a little crazy with these rules..
how is doing the manual blitz not sim? been doing it for years.
how is going for it on 4th down not sim? what if im on the 30, there's 6 to go.. and my kicker sucks.. ?
there's nothing wrong with throwing in a couple of trick plays.. FLEA FLICKER.. once or twice..
some of you are taking this way too far

Just don't do anything that would interfere with another players ability to beat you.....

That is the mentality of some of these "rules".

yea thats a good point, who would be so unsportsmanlike, as to interfere with the other persons ability to defeat you? THAT IS THE SINGLE STUPIDEST THING I'VE EVER READ IN MY LIFE!! Thats the whole point of football, i seriously hope that comment was sarcasm or something

That comment was dripping with sarcasm.
Perhaps I should have ended it with the /sarcasm

no dont get me wrong.. i do like to play as realistic as possible.
but in the nfl if your kicker has just been doing horribly.. WHICH MY KICKER HAS .. the coach would have more faith in the QB to make a 4th down play.. especially being in the 20 or 30.

manual blitzing is sim as long as you're not exploiting some sort of glitch in doing so. Flea flickers are also fine. Going for it on fourth however, ehh, it better be a logical decision at the least.

Excuse me for wanting to play a fair game. Look the only reason people are having problems with flea flickers is when it is used every other play or in some cases every play.
As far as the fourth down thing, the reason alot have a problem with it is because the majority of the kids that do it quit after they are shut down.
I'm a sim player and have no problem with you going for it on fourth. I would like to not have a game where the person does the flea flicker every play because it is boring and would be too easy to shut down. My only gripe is don't be a p.u.s.s.y and quit or disconnect after you get shut down, which you will.

Oh I found another glitch. Along with the 'prevent a win glitch' I found that CB that have the "BUMP MASTER" can hit WR at the line of scrimage and never get a penelty. So if you wanted to take Rice out you could. But there is a danger that you could miss and then he's wide open.

That isn't a glitch, that's the normal game.

according to the sim rules thread..
Don't put much weight on that thread. Just play fair and don't abuse any exploits, and only go for 4th when NEEDED, and you'll be considered sim by any logical player.

Don't put much weight on that thread. Just play fair and don't abuse any exploits, and only go for 4th when NEEDED, and you'll be considered sim by any logical player.wow! that made sense! I played a game yesterday, and played someone who had three created players,i thought it was great! He said, one was himself another his son and a family friend.I really dont see that as a problem,He bought the game for his kids and wants to include them, and i cant see someone saying"you know what bobby"i know this is supose to be fun and all! But the RULES state, that i can only have"one created player"Sorry. What! That guy was about as sim as sim gets! He never ran the QB,never once flea-flickerd,he did a man-blitz a few times(so what)I mean damn! Let people do what they want,He bought the damn game.WOW!Ive been away for awhile, taking care of real world biz,and nothing has changed,i thought with the new game, people would get over themselves, and just enjoy the game, play fair and not take the fun away.I guess not.Ohh Well.Im with you ESPNfan, just play fair and dont exploit plays all day,and play your style, otherwise you might as well take the game back. And get madden.

I had some kid go on it every forth down play... I didn't mind because it was an unranked game. But when he found out he was going to lose (2nd quarter) he quit on me and gave me a neg rating!!! In an unranked game!! The nice guy that I am, I gave him a neutral... only because the game wasn't ranked.

In my opinion going for it on fourth is not cheese. It's dumb but not cheese.
The only thing to me is cheese is exploiting the A.I. if the A.I. always falls hard on the flea flicker and you use it every play then that is cheese but Im just using that as an example I really dont know if this happens because I never played a guy that did that and I dont have a flea flicker in any of my playbooks soooo....thats it.

Well If 4th down with a yard or even 2 yards to go and im on or about thier 36 yard line I most of the time go for it. Does anyone think thats wrong of me? I mean damn I cant kick a field goal. Plus I really suck at offense so I figure why not maybe I can get something going. I will punt it tho if I know its a defensive stugle and im sure the other team cant score on me.
