Yepper. the game needs actual difficulty levels. I usually start a game on "rookie" then move up. I accidentally played half a game on pro. Played the same. I was hoping it was just my copy but I'm thinking it's not.

Some teams are better than others, just like real life. I doubt the Raiders complain things are too unfair everytime they have to play the Chargers.

ok fair enough, then why is that the computer is able to have FOUR mother f-ing gold star players and we can only have two???????????????

The ai is good cause you can't just throw deep or run the same play over & over alot my games on legend are just right without messing sliders you have too plan your plays not just turn on your console and hope for the best, passing is alittle hard at first but after some practice i'm getting alot better at it.

Again, how many NFL teams have 4-5 star players compared to another team's 2? I'm guessing we could all name a few ;)

Okay, if some teams actually have six, even I would say that's a bit much. No doubt the programmers did that to give people a challenge in season mode. A better system would have been to allow us to set the CPU team rosters up the way we wanted them. Extremely lazy on VC's part. But the whole season mode is just a lazy afterthought really.

maybe next time for the franchise mode they could have it to where you earn like points or somthing and you could upgrade your team that way to be able to hold more Gold or something like that, but Im fine with the way it is, once I beat the offline mode and get all the achievements, I'll be online only anyway.
Off Topic: I was surprised and glad to see KRS One dropping another album, and when I heard the way he broke it down what Hip-Hop was, I felt enlightened. It was crazy. Finally the Real is back, music and football. I can' lie, Rakim really sold me on buying this game so early, I knew I would take 2K8 over Madden but I'm Ol' Skool I guess.

Its the difference in playing the Patriots who have how many Stars? Lets count.
1. Payton Manning
2. Marvin Harrison imo one of the top 5 best all time WR's.
3. Dwight Freeny
4. Reggie Wayne
5. Tarik Glenn (though he retired today)
All argueably a gold tier talent.

I like the fact that there are teams with more gold players.
I posted half of the rosters on here and pointed out that fact even. No one seemed to care. I guess now they do. Try playing the Los Angeles Legends on All-Pro.
You will get KILLED!

For offline play, we should have the option and ability to put any player on any User or CPU team. And it's entirely idiotic that VC didn't allow this. I can see why they don't allow editing player names or CPU unis, but to prevent us from creating our own CPU team rosters with the players they gave us... that's complete BS.

as long as I have Mr. Barry Sanders and Mr. Ronnie Lott, you can have the gold, black, blue purple, turquiose players you want...

Someone on OS was rating the Colts as an APF team, and wrote that Marvin Harrison was a BRONZE player!? I flipped out when I read that, LOL. You're correct ;)

Without the added stars the game would find the shelf quick for those who do not play online. They need a challenge as well and replay value too.
Also ask Baadje said there are plenty of teams with super stars on them and others who have hardly any. It is no different than playing 2k5 and all NFC or AFC teams where everyone was a star and you played your team against them.
It is a challenge and you do welcome a challenge right?
I'm not talking ranks and all that mess. I'm talking about a good game where you map out how are you going to stop this and that. Do you dare blitz? Do you sit back in a zone.
Will you have time for the deep ball or will you have to pit pat down the field. Are you good at kicking FG's because that might be a key too.
This is what real football teams go through before stepping on the field.
We wanted a simulation game and we got it. Now have to do the work to make the simulation game work for us.

I heard people giving Reggie Wayne more credit than Marvin.

exactly what I'm thinking. as long as i dont go online with my squad, let me make my fantasy squad, my own fantasy league for that matter, but thats ok, im sure we'll have it in 2K9, its your first next gen attempt, so i'll forgive you VC, just for your sake, I hope you guys are printing out every single post (cept the dumb *** SIM ones) and STUDY. we are giving you the recipe to go beyond greatness, to do what Madden has only dreamed of doing. but for now, i will work with what you've given me.

Yes. I'm saying we should complete freedom to create CPU rosters and move players around ala NFL 2K5. As I said, I understand the lack of editing options given VC doesn't want us to be able to re-create the NFL. But not allowing us the option of editing CPU rosters using the players they gave us, is total rubbish. There is NO excuse for it, other than they were too lazy to offer it as an option.

Hey, even Madden 06 next-gen allowed you to move players around to different teams. And that was THE worst, most featureless, next-gen sports game ever.
You're more forgiving than I am...

Why should you be able to move players around? Its probably because you want to create a super team full with 8 gold players to mask your lack of skill with the game. Its sad people can't even beat the computer and also people don't blame your skill or lack there of on the game developers.

He doesn't call his QB's g*y or rant to the media everytime he feels he's not being appreciated. Therefore he doesn't get the attention. He just quietly goes out and plays football.

Seriously, this has to be the weakest, most obtuse reply to a post that I've read on this forum in a week... and that's saying a lot. And completely anticipated from a member of the online crowd of course.

This was one of the things that confused me, if the teams are unbalanced, it should gives us the ability to make unbalanced teams.
Also it would be great if for 2K9 that we could to take a penalty to build are teams to acquire another gold or silver player.

No they should not give us the ability to make unbalanced teams. What would have been the point of having bronze and silver. All people would do is pick gold.

A)A.i
B)A.I
C)a.i

Someone asked why some AI teams get four gold players, when users are limited to only two. I answered his question. The AI can not provide enough of a challenge on its own, so it gets loaded rosters, which mean a lot in this game.
Is this sinking in now?
