Here's an old football secret for some of you online folks.

If you have the ball with the lead and less than 2 minutes on the clock...

Don't pass. Just don't do it. Someone bombed it on 2nd down with like 1:30 to go, and guess what? I picked it off, drove all the way down field and scored a TD to take the lead with just a few seconds left. Next thing you know, he's throwing more passes, but this time, its his only chance to win.

If you're going to pass in that situation, have some confidence that your play will work. Don't blindly bomb it only hoping that the play will work. For instance, my team has Montana, Rice, and Andre Reed. Reed is Mr. 3rd down. If there's less than two minutes left and its 3rd and long, I *might* try to get it to him if I think I can beat the coverage. If the coverage is tight, I'll take a sack (keep the clock rolling) or throw it away (avoid loss of yardage).

Just a little advice from someone who thought he was going to lose.

Uhm, if you know the game of football you wouldn't even need to read this. I'm a person who took a whole quarter on one drive. Know how to play the game of football and you can win in any situation. Use timeouts wisely.

I hate the accelerated clock in situations like this, it burns up the game clock unreasonably fast and if there is only 10 seconds left and you are out of timeouts don't even think of getting the ball off. The accelerated clock shouldn't run or shouldn't effect the game clock in situations like this.

That's why it is implented cause of situations like this...what would you rather do...

Wait 40 seconds while your opponent burns the clock...or wait 5-15 while your opponent burns 20-25 secs off the clock.

That's why there are buttons to spike the ball and no huddle

Only plays I'd run with the lead under 2 minutes are, Shotgun draws, FB/HB flats, big run sets and HB screens.

But if your down by 3 with 30 seconds left. at most you will get off a play because of the clock, without it you could get off enough plays to actually put together a drive and get in field go range. yes I'd rather wait for them burn the clock knowing that if I do managed to get the ball back I'll have time to do something.

But if you call a no huddle...or to spike the ball the accelarated clock doesnt come into play
