who, what and how do you get forced fumbles?

I think instead oh tackling get close to the ball carrier and hit the RT button. I think. I've never tried it, but had someone to it to my running back.

who, what and how do you get forced fumbles?
I have forced about 10 fumbles out of the 20/25 games I have played, have not got the achievement yet cause I really only play online. I have noticed though when I force fumbles in the replays all of them have come from me useing the big hit (clicking down the right thumbstick) and only when I hit them on the side they are carrying the ball. 2 of these 10 have been the quarterback though so those dont really count.
