This is pretty simple. I'm keeping a journal of online games, who I played, the score, what playstyle my opponent used, and how I rated them.

Feel free to discuss, but anything abusive and not constructive will be deleted from the thread. This is just for me to keep a running history, and to spawn some critical discussion of how the game is played.

Starting off this log I have a 100% 2K Rating, having played 27 games, 22 Positive ratings, and 5 neutrals.

Ran gold running back up the middle, same play every down, if the play gained more than say, 5 yards, he'd rush to the line and run it again. If he saw you plugging the middle, he'd swing it out to same HB. Never did anything else. On defense, he ran a 4-4 defense with a silver OLB and "The Fridge". He would either get a free run with the OLB (2K5 DE glitch revised), or bull rush with the Fridge. Plugged the middle on every down. Attempts to pass were largely unsuccessful because the QB would never have time to plant his feet before throwing.

Didn't neccessarily cheat. He ran a gold running back up the middle until I stuffed that, then he thought it would be a good idea to scramble back 20 yards and let go of bombs. Not cheating, but not sim either, generally just not a fun game. No challenge when all I have to do is have a cornerback sit on the left side waiting for the QB to stupidly run into him.

but i understand that could get annoying. but You know the free blitz can be stopped. Just move your protection to that side. or get a running back to block

That's just it, I did. I tried running plays with 2 TE lined up over his blitzer, and the RB audibled to block too. He ran right around them. Granted it took longer, but I was also out 2 receivers on the play slowing him down too.

i have had my trouble with that dont get me wrong... if they nerf this stuff then they had better make o line and d line worth taking, and im sorry if that last post sounded the way it did but its early i have not had my coffie ect..

I'll play you...I've only had one online game so far that I won 14-10.

I mix it up quite a bit on offense and use a created QB ( rocket arm, quick release, and speed burner) most games I have only 10 yards rushing w/ him, and never more than 20, speed burner is mainly because I can have someone that is slow as nails.

i'm not the best defensive player, I probably use ILB the most, occasionally someone on the dline, and sometimes a safety. I blitz maybe 5-10% of the time.

Also, I can handle losing and wouldn't quit.

hmm i wonder if the games really play that much differend across systems. Cause that works for me on ps3. i like the Shotgun set with the two RB in the backfield. I rarely get sacked in that set unless its a coverage sack.

Pretty hard fought game all the way around. He swarmed my receivers pretty well. We each broke a big run for a touchdown. The difference maker was that I got 3 int's on him. Would definitely play again. If not for those int's, he probably would have won.

Journaling is fine. Starting up "no sim" lists isn't okay. There is a difference. You'll note that I'm not bashing anyone. Those no-sim lists were just bashing bad players. This is here to discuss game playstyles.

Holy yikes this man has a brutal pass defense. It took me recovering an onside kick to crawl back into this one, and time expired on a 4th and long dropped pass in the end zone, from the red zone. He was wide open, bobbled and dropped it. Ugh. Played an excellent game though. Would definitely play him again!

I kinda feel bad about this on 3 or 4 levels. It seems like this guy was new to the game, and I was pounding him, so I was less aggressive and let a few things go that I shouldn't have. Ooops. :P As soon as I started screwing around, he started tearing me up. :) He didn't make any effort to cheat, glitch, or wail on his start button. He was quite obviously new though. The touchdowns came on blown coverages as I was toying around with new formations, except for one, where he just plain called a better play than me.

Earl Cambell abuser. Ran right up the middle on every play but one with Earl Campbell. He didn't particularly do anything else wrong, he just did that one thing over and over and over again. :(

I feel bad too, because he had perfect feedback before that.

Well....finally got my first negative rating. :( This game was rough. He shut me out in the first half, and he had a custom-created gold running back named "David". 7ft, speed burner and workhorse. He ran "David" up the middle over and over. Into the second half, I finally switched to man-to-man coverage. This held him in check. He also had most of his picks on defense, so in the first half I really couldn't move the ball. I finally found something that worked, which was spread out the defense and run the ball. The problem was that it was taking me 4 downs to pick up the first down (probably the reason he gave me a negative). I picked him off twice, once run back for a touchdown. All-in-all, the only legitimate grip with me could have was going for it on 4th down a few times running the ball. He picked me off 3 times, and with the linebackers and secondary he had, there was no way I could go back to throwing. Basically his gameplan was to create an unstoppable running back, and put all of his other picks on defense. I won, but got rated down for it. :\ Yay me.
