I think we need to let the whole "sim", "cheese" go

At this point we know which games we like whether it be APF or Madden. We also know how each game plays but the thing that gets me is how much people play into the whole "I play sim" vs the "cheesers" though process. I'm pretty annoyed and tired of it. It didn't start with Run and Shoot but he showed how far overboard someone can take it. I think 2k should remove the ratings system because of it. Some people won't play you because someone else deemed you a cheeser and I think that's pretty stupid. But on the other hand if you don't play like someone wants you to play then you don't get Sim respect. We all have different play styles and as adult gamers we should be able to read, respond and react accordingly. I also don't think that we should let the game makers get away with not going through the code with a fine tooth comb to take out potential exploits that make the game not fun to play. These are the thoughts of a frustrated poster and sports gamer. Please let me know how you guys feel, we all post here for whatever reasons and I would like some community input.

Well it seems it comes in at "age" level too.

I played soem dude last night from arkansas, he was 36. We had a cool convo, and we had 3 awesome games.

Neither one of us was like "ZOMG BOYZ, U'D BETER PL@Y SIM "

When it comes down to it, its like this. Some play like real football. Some use glitches and do whatever it takes to win.

join a league or have a solid friends list to use. thats the way i go about it so i dont have to worry about the 7 ft. people.

I agree with R&S as far as playing the game like real football, I know there are older gamers and kids alike on the game but the rating system is pretty good in my opinion. The game is Football and I want to have a chess match online not checkers.

i find it funny that people LOVE to claim how "sim" this game is compared to madden- yet there are so many complaints about people not playing fair and "cheesing"

BOTH games have unrealistic aspects to them, if there wasnt then there could be no TRUE cheesing.

In fact, i could even call apf2k8 more arcade than madden because there are NO ratings, superstar abilities, generic player "packages", no franchise, etc. People say madden isnt real football because you can throw off your backfoot- well breaking 20+ tackles and dropping 40% of passes a game is just as fake.

I think the rating system is the best thing ever. I don't have to waste my time playing cheaters, glitchers, and exploiters. I play a complete fair game. I have played about 50 games online, I am 5 games over 500, within the top 200 - 300 rank, and I have a rating of 95% which would have been a hundred but I quit two games in the first 2 mins of the game. The first game the guy went for it on his 30, 4th and 3. The second game the guy did 9 no huddles in a row along with going for it on 4th and 1 on his 40. The only reason I quit games like that is because, honestly, it bores me.:( Basically I can have a 95% after 50 games I only play people that are following the same path. If you are 88% or lower I will not play you.

I understand that you want a good game so your not bored but you quit a couple of games just because he did something you didn't like. Who's to say that he didnt have a reason to do what he did besides expoiting the game, Not everyone's strategy is your own but people will quit out of a game if you don't follow the "stereotypical" sunday football rules. This is the stuff i hear about and experience and It's just seems silly.

I don't, I actually think its pretty smart to use it. But people on here think everything equals cheesing. Next you will have to hike the ball only at 15 seconds to be called a "sim" player. Its getting crazy.

How did I have a feeling you would say that Prince, first what's good and second come on. I think it needs to be said at this point, people are putting too much emphasis on this and its killing the boards and the online aspect of the game.

It was a joke... I kinda feel the same way, but sim/cheese will always be there, but it needs to be turned WAY down, especially with a game as relaistic as this.

I feel you man, and one day we should run a game or two. I'm just kinda tired of seeing all the "Hey i got a league up, legend diff, sim players only" I'm waiting for someone to put up a "all cheese" league. Just for fun. By the way that NBA 2k8 is looking kinda crazy right now.

I honestly don't know how to cheese in this game(or any game for that matter... whenever I try to cheese I just end up sucking, lol), the only cheese/glitch I can think of is the "freeze other persons screen" glitch, which run n shoot knows oh so well.

Whining about the hurry up really baffles me. People can call defensive audibles, so if you just catch on to their pattern of play calling, it's really simple to stop.
