View Full Version : 2K rating... I like the idea but...

I like the idea of the 2K ratings but they are really just a pain. I have come to a conclusion and decision on future actions: I no longer care, nor look, nor refer to 2K player ratings anymore. Why? Because anytime I beat an opponent by 30+ points or 7- points, I get bad feedback simply because of the fact that I beat them. I play fair, sim but not over the top sim. A flea flicker here or Earl carrying there doesn't bother me. I'm pretty tolerant about the stuff... But no matter what I seem to do I cannot keep my 2K rating far above 70% even though in most cases I am the epitome of the guy you would want to play. I have tried using my mic to talk to my opponents and all I get is "Ima beat you! My mic is off you suck! Or "Whats up dog *13 year old squeak* was getting the ladies last night *squeak*"... I send Gl and GG before and after most games... I don't use created players... You get the picture. No matter what, my 2K rating in my eyes is irrelevant from here on out because anyone who plays a few ranked games a day (fairly, without freezing or other junk) knows what I am talking about... I doubt it is simply my bad luck. It's a shame 2K couldn't monitor the games and give out the real ratings that should be given... Obviously, can't happen but I wish.

Have fun playing, Tyler7y13r

it's just a game..you shouldn't care anyways. i could've told everyone before the game was developed that feedback would be abused like it is in every other game because people simply aren't mature enough so it's pointless to even care at all

Well, you're main problem is finding people to play. Here's my technique:

1.) Go into the lobby, and use the F4 quick text that says "I'm looking for a sim game (no cheese)
2.) Wait for a challenge
3.) Make sure the challenger has at least 85%+ 2k rating, and make sure the ping is all green. Also, make sure they have a mic
4.) Say "hello" in the pre-game lobby. If they say "hi" back, and we get a dialogue going, then I know it will be a good game. If they don't, and they say something akin to what you were talking about, you can always leave.

To me, the rating is very helpful. I've yet to play a bad online game. All of my experiences have been excellent, and I've played with people who know the game, and like to have fun playing sim. I'm pretty sure my rating is 100% with about 7 games under my belt so far...
