WHY ARE THEY LAST TO PUT OUT INFO ON THEIR OWN GAME?

cos they're lazy?
i don't know, usually ign and gamespot are the cornerstones for getting game information so they release it to them first?? or maybe they just cover it on press days?
2ksports could say that their game is "new and innovative" and people could say they are only saying that cos its their own game... if IGN or gamespot say that then every1 is impressed
just an idea?

Simply, I think its only because they are 60% done. You can't really judge a game that is 60% done.. can you?

Well, they could at least release some gameplay videos. As much as I love a dunk contest, I would rather have them spend all there time on 5on5 basketball.

well the dunk contest has a video... it kind of reminds me of nba live. though with different buttons. i kind of like the props and the way they move such as, if they hit the prop they fall. I think if they are adding the dunk contest they might as well throw in the 3PT shoot out because they already have the engine for it. (yes they do have it) because it was a feature in nba 2k7: 24/7. peja's 3pt challenge. it was really fun cause it was all about perfect release and about the player's 3pt rating.

It was "60%" done last week, surelly it's up to 61% by now, NO? I hope you detect the sarcasm. It's been pointed out like 1000 times that the game is well past 60% development at this point, yet some idiots keep chanting the mantra 60%...60%...60%. See if this computes in your small brain. They started development last year sometime in October...so 9 or 10 month in they are 60% and you expect them in 1 to 1.5 month's finish the other 40%. How stupid can you people be?

you never know. it take about 3 months to prep a sports game, then they start developing. right about know they most likely have everything on the table, now they are just putting it all together. and in late august/early september they will just be fixing/ ironing out the bugs & updating the rosters. This game should be complete by september 25th.

NAH The version they showed in the dunk Contest was 60%
They could have a more finished version at the VC studios.

Anyone with any type of software development experience etc. will tell you that no way is this game only 60% done. I really don't know why it bothers me when people say it other then it really ****es me off. Most of the time when something negative is pointed out, inevitably some idiot will pipe up and be like welllllll....it's only 60% done. After being a long time Live fan, I picked up 2k7 on ebay and was blown away. So I'm not Live apologist, and this year will wait for reviews instead of just going out and buying Live blindly like in the years past. But I think it sets this game up for unrealistic expectations when people keep saying only 60% done....like all of a sudden there is going to be a HUGE boost in apparent quality, not that it's not a great game already but it's unrealistic to expect something more then it is....already a great game. It's doing this series a disservice. Can't wait to see game play footage. Thats where this series truly shines.

I follow game development fairly closely as well as work in software development/IT. When ever you take a game to be shown off, 95% of the time you'll take your latest stable build. You don't take a build from April to show at an August even etc. Unless you are intentionally trying to hide something, which I concede could be a possibility in this case. However, I think it's unlikely.

The dunk contest seemed at least 85% finished, it was the rest of the game that was nnot close to finish. we will get the result soon enough though.

lets remember that the dunk contest video was NOT an official video release, it was recorded from a press open day on nba 2k8
so no videos have been released as yet

maybe they just wanted to show a 60% verson of the game, and they really have more done then that. Its just a thought

The final game is 60% done. That means they have 40% of work to do to get it completed the way they want it to.
It's semi-playable right now so it's just like a beta version. The graphics engine is pretty much done outside of the shorts engine flapping up and down. They may need to add more textures etc but the animations gotta be done. Regardless.....
As far as the topic on the thread 2ksports will have stuff soon when they want to release and like someone else said they will release it to the press when they have screens/vids etc that are of better quality and furhter along in the development process.

I think for all of our sakes some of the posters on this forum need to be put into suspended animation and released on Oct 2nd so we don't have to got through all this belly-aching and griping about the game.
