Technical Fouls in 2k8 (u jus got T up)

Its Just A Rumor but...:confused: :confused:

On the 2K forums, members have been discussing rumors of possible technical foul feature being incoporated. Supposively tapping of the "B" button will give your player the ability to argue a foul to a point where the ref T's you up. The only reason I may not believe it is because the NBA has cracked down on the technical foul issue and don't want it to be a big issue.

a button to argue a call would be dumb, but getting a technical foul for things like illegal D or 3 in the key would be cool and more life like

I agree, technical foul for hitting a button is stupid, but 3 seconds is cool.

Also, just an idea, why not have a player rating (Arguability or something, idk), whereas different players might react to a call to the point to get a T.

For example, rasheed would be more likely to argue a call than a guy like lebron because he whines a lot.

ya but u have to look at it from the user point of view, if the user gets mad, there needs to be some sort of way of making the player get a T not some random programming that does it 4 u

I heard that when a basketball game gets a license from the NBA they have a contract that the game is not allowed to set a bad example of NBA, which means that things like fights and technical calls are not allowed.

I know, and there is also something called "clear patch foul" that allows you to shoot a free throw, but they are not caused by a player' complain or any emotional reaction.

they should have it as, you hold the dunk button or shot stcik to long while you are haging on the rim, them they can call you for that. Tapping a button would be dumb.

I.E. If Vince Carter goes up for a dunk against Shaq and a foul is called on Shaq who thinks it was a clean block. You are Shaq and decide to either change the flow of the game or negatively affect ur teams play by making him commit a T?

there is no technical foul called in 2k7 for Def 3 sec, or at least in my version so I have no idea what your talking about. They should add that to it though along with illegal D technicals

When my friend and I discussed what we wanted in 2k8 we said there should be an "Aggression" rating and guys techs..we said that after a call you think is questionable, you should be able to argue with the ref. (Like players do in the nba)..and sometimes if you argue with the ref he will start to call things your way (you know, call a charge a blocking foul and vice versa)...OR if you do it too many times in a row, you get a tech...two techs and you're tossed..that way you COULD risk getting a few calls ala Iverson, or getting ejected ala Sheed

There is a bonus free throw during a DEF 3 violation, not sure though if it counts as a tech foul.

I like this Aggression rating, much like in NHL 2K7. Yea, i think NBA 2k8 should have this one, but maybe like Temper rating where it can be applied to both players and coaches - allowing the possibility of actually getting T'd by the refs, but not as a result of a brawl or any physical altercation, maybe the hanging on the rim thing, arguing for a call. Flagrant 1 or 2 fouls, long shot, but it is possible too. Wow, cant wait to see Martin and Maggete engage on a fist fight again, at least on a video game.

This is a bit unrealistic, but at least in street, you should be able to fight like in NHL 2K7. It would be fun beating the ©®@p out of each other

this thread is stupid and useless... WE are the members on the 2K forums and we don't have any direct impact on developing the game, so how can what WE say be taken as something even somewhat official? The guy who posted that on the other website is an idiot too.

I can make a thread and say that this year in 2K8 we will have MJ in the game and we'll have classic teams like the 86 celtics, 87 lakers, 91 bulls, 96 bulls, etc. etc.

does that mean that it will be in the game?

I think the whole button press thing works, they do it in MLB 2k7 where the coach argues kinda thing. I don't know where it would implemented like in what situation but the mechanics of it are good.

Thats already in the game.

It would be cool if it was balanced, like complaining to the refs would get you more calls later in the game because the refs would be more aware that someone is fouling you or whatever. Then if you cross the line with your complaining you get hit with a tech.

But if you don't complain at all the refs may see you as a push over and not give you any calls.
