They sure are taking their time. Dunk Contest good to see. But how about a 5 v 5 game. I want to see how much more realistic they got.

Anyone else get the sense that they are holding their cards EXTREMELY close to the vest? I mean for crying out loud, nothing regarding NCAA2k8 and almost ZERO regarding NBA2k8. Makes you think....what are they up to over there?

Rumor has it that, not only will just about all players have their own shot stroke, but they will also have their 1st, 2nd and 3rd signature moves. Again - just about ALL of them. If this is true it will make Live's 1 signature move per star seem like a shortcoming. Also, another rumor is that your custom player can compete in the stand alone dunk contest and add that to your trophy wall once you win. The sweat is now more gradual and will be wiped off once a timeout is called. Different players will show different sweat levels depending on their exhaustion instead of how late in the game it is. The players that play for a longer period will actually exhibit their exhaustion physically too. In other words, they will hunch over and grab their shorts more often when they are tired. Supposedly, you will be able to see their chest rise and fall - also showing how tired your player acutally is. AI's calling for the ball will be more pronounced with the AI's ability to "know" when they have a mismatch. A hard foul's effect will depend on the size and position of the defender. This means that even if a superstar gets the shot off, the ball/arm can lose some momentum if the defender is hit in the right places at the right time. To me this means that you will be able to chose how to foul right before the foul. ie Wrap up or a light smack in the arm. Nothing will be automatic!!! Lets all hope this is all true..

Yeah, that would make the game even more realistic. How about things that players can't do in rl, but could do in 2k7 (ie Yao doing an up and under layup with a lot of hangtime or Duncan dunking with his head above the rim)? Will they change that?

Players do show their exhaustion already. If you leave them in and their stamina is low you do see them slouch over more (namely during free throws). As for different levels of sweat, that too was in 2k7. If you look at the players' jerseys as the game progresses, you will see the sweat stains get larger on their jerseys.
As for signature moves, I believe the press release mentioned that they were working on more signature dribbles, shots, and even pass animations...
Rumors are rumors for a reason. Any person can go on a forum (look, I'm on one now!) and type away saying that they just heard Kevin Harlan record himself saying "Chris Duhon" (finally) for the game or that you can do hard flagrant fouls with a press of a button, but nothing really has been shown. If IGN, Gamespot, or teamxbox puts up a preview, it'll be posted here shortly after it is discovered, but as of yet, 2K is being tight-lipped because they don't want EA or 989 to steal their ideas.
Oh, and by the way, I'm back on these boards, heh

If by 'rumor' you mean 'just made that up on the spot'
