I have XBOX 360 now, last year XBOX. I had both NHL 07 and NHL 2k7. I liked both. But, 2k7 I hated two things about it. It was too hard to score, and no penaltys would be called. 07, the free agents were fake people, too easy to score, and some other things as well, but I found myself playing that game more because I couldn't stand the no-penalty calls.
So, I am undecided on which one to get. I have played NHL 07 on the 360, but not 2k7 on the 360. I liked 07 on 360 a lot. But, I am hearing some good things about 2K8 and 08.
I have some few questions I want to ask.
In 2K8, will their be penaltys called?
Is scoring going to be little easier.?
Graphics are they going to be better?
This is for the nex-gen game. So anybody who had 2K7 for it, please tell me what was the pros and cons of the game. Maybe I'll switch from EA NHL to 2K NHL!

In 2K8, will their be penaltys called? That all depends on what gameplay settings you use I would imagine.
In 2K7 on online play the All-Star Default (advanced lobby settings) hardly any penalties and fast game speed, maybe 2 or 3 a game total. If you play All-Star Sim (Sim Lobby settings) more penaties are called and slower game speed. If you play offline an want more penalties turn up settings, set to Hall Of Fame an adjust the penalty sliders up from where they are.
Is scoring going to be little easier.? No idea but they did completely redo the goalie postion from the ground up, from the AI to how they react to animations.
Graphics are they going to be better? They are tons better, in comparison it is like night an day from 2K7 to 2K8.
As far as 2K7 is hard to say what is good an bad as the game is overall pretty good but it has it's flaws just like 07 has theres as well. I would suggest renting 2K7 an see what you think for yourself that way you get a hands on look at it instead of what others say as they could be biased in there opinion.
If you want to get more info on 2K8 go to 2khockey.net an read the preview they wrote. They got to go to the 2K Sports/Kush Games office in southern California an actually play a build of the game.

I'll get BOTH... play them for a while and decide which one to keep. The other I'll flip on ebaY. Both games are adding some cool stuff. Can't wait to play them!

I'll be buying both and keeping them both. I love the sport of hockey and I can never get enough of it. Still playing both NHL 07 and NHL 2K7 today with my Ottawa Senators.

Well if you dont do anything to get a penalty called, there wont be any penaltys. I played about 5 seasons on Pro and there were always accurate penaltys.
Scoring easier? I never found it hard, i have been playing 2k hockey for years so i guess if you're not used to it..it's going to take a while to get used to. Scoring isnt hard at all.
The graphics are 100 times better than what they were, they are as good if not better than what EA has shown this year.
