I'd love to be in this tournament if I could get on 2k sports online but 2k doesn't give a **** about its customers and their tech support issues.

Everyone should play. The person who wins won't be who you think. It's always that way. :)

Qualification does not start until August 24th so you have plenty of time to fix the problem...
Let me help you troubleshoot. Can you please explain the error you receive when trying to connect online or to a game?

When I choose the xbox live option it tries to connect and then tells me the 2k sports online system is temporarily down. I've played some quick matches with no problems at all. I've played all of my other xbox and xbox360 games with no problems in the past. My xbox 360 is not behind a firewall and the nat settings are set to open.

Our tech department needs more information. Here is the response I received:
"Has this user never been able to connect? Is he using a router and if so which make / model?"

Yes, I have never been able to connect. I am using the dsl router that my isp provided. The make and model is Thomson speed touch 546. As I mentioned the router's firewall is disabled. I hope this enough info.

Here is the response I received:
It use to be that *some* (a very few) routers needed a firmware upgrade in order to work with LSP enabled games. LSP is Microsoft's solution for allowing us to run our own server outside of Live. Updating firmware always involves some risk as a partial update can render the device useless. He should understand the risk before attempting to do it and should definitely refer to the user guide that came with the router. He can visit the following link for firmware information and updates and the user guide if he doesn't have a hard copy. If he does not have 546v5 (should be near the serial number on the router) he needs to select 546v6 from the drop down. If he has any other version (not v5 or v6) he should not use the firmware available on this site.

Hope this helps and good luck.
