I've been playing for awhile offline with my injuries on max, but it seems like noone gets injured. I had only one person get hurt and I'm almost done with the first season.

I like to know if anyone played a whole season and if you did, how many players on your team got hurt?

I know. I think it is stupid to say so much about Real Time Injury when it no one is ever injured.

I just finished an entire season with Injury on at max, and no one got hurt the whole season, lol.

This is way franchise was important, you would have more injuries just like REAL football. You need injuries to make teams off-balance.

Is there injuries in online leagues and if so how long are the injuries?

There is not alot of injuries at all. I really dont mind considering if your gold star players gets hurt. Your pretty much done. At least for online play. I lost Gale Sayers once after the opening kick off. My offense really struggled, I think i put up 10 points that game. lol

That's perfect especially when playing in an online league. Teams shouldn't always have their best players all the time. You need that X factor in this game.

pff, imo, thats no fun to play without my star player like that. Maybe if my whole team was full of legends. I am not with the people on this. I like not many injuries with only 11 old schoolers per team.

No, because you don't really handpick your backups. You say what you generally want them to be good at. Not only that, but it's a video game. An online league on a video game. I'm all for realistic sim football, but saying it's not realistic unless your players are getting hurt it's stupid. If you have Joe Montana and he goes down for 11 weeks, how are you going to win with a generic QB? You won't. You're done. And that's not exactly fair to those who get injured. while others don't.

I have injuries set to 70 and i get about 1-3 injuries per game(15min quarters), some serious some not. I lost rice last season for 8 weeks but he healed quickly(was diagnosed for 16 weeks). One thing that does really suck though is that if you lose players at the same position you can't sign or add anyone to replace them. I lost two DE's and had to play half the season with a LB at DE, it really killed my run D.

So, the cpu doesn't replace your DE's with another one...yeah than that really s@@ks. I thought if a player went down a gerneric player filled the position and he went down the cpu would provide a backup at that position to replace him.

Well, then I guess injuries in this game s@@k, and if thats the case why have them in the first place.

Yea Steel, kinda sucks unless there's an option to add a replacement. Brownster, a lot of backup QB's blow chunks in real life, heck even some starters.

But this isn't real life. The gap between a Gold QB and a generic QB is MASSIVE. I just turn injuries off during games, along with Face Mask, Late Hit, and Ineligible Receiver Downfield.

I want the gameplay to be as sim as possible, but when it takes away from the actual enjoyment of the game, I don't want it to be in there.

Have you been getting a lot of those penalties? I get them rarely but often enough to be 'realistic'.
Ok, example. Do you think Peyton Manning's backup is anywhere near the capability that he is? I, however, haven't used a generic backup yet so i don't know how bad they really do suck. Yoiks, hope i didn't jinx Marino!

And as for your question, I get lots of late hits because I like to make sure the guy is down. If the QB slides, you're certain to get a late hit, whether you do, or the computer does it. If you hit a receiver a millisecond after the whistle blows, 15 yards and a first down. I've had multiple games decided by that penalty. Face mask I don't get so much, but I don't control it...there is no "aggressiveness" in 2k8, unlike 2k5, so that huge 15 yard penalty isn't something you can control. As for ineligible receiver downfield, I just find it ridiculous...it seems to be a glitch in the game when you're scrambling sometimes, if you get too close to the LOS and then throw the ball, one of your blockers will sometimes cross. It's taken away quite a few of my long passes.

thats true, but some of them have cannon arms tho..... my backup QB couldn't throw it 40 yards. has a JELLO arm.....like this guy.... :D

Injuries are a pretty small part of the game but the injuries then to be pretty long.
