Game has been out a little more then 2 weeks. its hard to tell. I predict a price drop very soon. That should help alot. People that are on the fence (yes, there are tons) will purchase the game at a discount price.

I think they did a great job with gameplay and AI progression. These two items they hit a homerun with. As for replay value, its not there. They really needed franchise mode for online and offline players. Making this game mostly for online players cuts your market in half, not good business.
I think they will have a 2k9, I just hope they add those features in.

I find the replay value to be excellent for how limited the features are...

many people like myself believe that 2k is using smoke and mirrors with that statement . if this game ends up successful what kind of IDIOT really thinks that 2k is going to skip a year . if this game succeeds itll be a 2k9 .

I've seen the article that spoke of the game as being bi-yearly, but has 2K made an official statement as to this? The reason I ask is because in the chat session that was hosted by Toma, official game reps talked of there possibly being a game next year.
My feeling is that there is probably no official standing at this time. It's likely a "wait and see" situation.

There is nothing wrong with a bi-yearly game since this game has re-play value for most players.

Remember this game isn't based off a real football league so they being 2k can patch a number of things between now and 2k9 their is no roster update or anything like madden so they can in due time release a patch for a things to be fixed or too add on too their game.

I agree, it's not official that it's bi-yearly. I think it's a wait and lets see thing also. If they feel the sells are good enough, i believe that they will make a 2K9.
And i disagree that there is no replay value in this game. Though i don't have online "yet", i already can't wait to experiment with creating different teams to see how things go. I feel there is still alot you can do off-line even though there is no franchise. I have so many ideas already for teams to create. As i said before in another Thread, one of my ideas consist of using a lot of Legends on my O-line, and using a generic back to see how that goes. What inspired me with that was the fact that people say Emmit Smith was only as good as he was because his O-line. So i just think people have to be creative off-line.

If they dont come out with an 09 game, that would be a big mistake. Why? You will probably see a few new football games out next year trying to fill the void left by 2k. Not only EA, but tecmo possibly and even Microsoft might bring back their football game and there could be others. I know it will be only one NFL game, but 2k opened up a new world of generic football games. And if they are waiting for the NFL license, EA will have that locked forever. So if 2k doesnt have a game next year, they may never recover again.

Absolutely not! All-Pro Football 2K8's the first and last of its kind, for a long time.

I've seen you make this statment many times in the past week when there is talk of another all pro game. Do you have inside info or is this all speculation based on EAs past actions? Just wondering about your reasonings.

How come you never have anything good to say about APF 2K8. Every damn post of yours is about how bad APF is. You should take your negative comments to other forums. I would understand if you disliked the game for certain reasons, but you never give reasons. Anyways, there better be a 2K9 cause this game is a couple features from being greatness.

I have given APF 2K8 credit where it's due. Untrue. The game has more cons than pros. There's a reason for everything. Read around to learn mine.

this is a highly subjective thing to say. for me, replay is almost nil without a franchise mode. saying "most" is probably quite an overstatement.

those that bought apf too play for a few weeks... will buy anything without thinking. so those same peeps will pick up madden and probably pick up blitz if it comes out again... and probably pick up tecmo bowl if it ever hits.
peeps such as that are high impulse buyers... they go crazy nuts when in a store filled with things they like.

If we don't get a 2K9, it will be due to costs. I would guess that it has been relatively expensive for them to sign the Legends. Many people on these boards have suggested a game designed around a completely generic league, sans Legends. Maybe this would be a possibility.
Or, perhaps they could have 2 series going at the same time, with each of them being bi-yearly. On the odd years (2007, 2009), we would get the APF series with Legends. On the even years (2008, 2010), we would get a different style of league, perhaps a fictional high school or fictional college league. This new series would be relatively easy to develop, using the same engine, animations, and gameplay mechanics. Simply add the features many of us are so desperate for and create a backstory to the league to give it some depth.
I don't know if this is the answer or not. All i know for certain is that I want more 2K football next year!

They also talked about features they would want to add in 2k9. And they also said that
2k9's fate depends on 2k8. Yes, they did say APF would be a bi-yearly game, but I think they meant it would be a bi-yearly game if and when they get the NFL license back. Think about it tard. If it's bi-yearly, then we wouldn't get another one until 2k10, which is when they would supposedly get the license back. That wouldn't help them out at all.
If the sales are decent enough then we'll get 2k9. They directly said that they want to make 2k9 during their Gamespot interview. It will be bi-yearly after that . . . TARD . . .

Bi-annual has been mentioned as a possibility. I have found nothing saying that it has been decided that it will be a bi-annual game. If you have, please post a link.

lol. And thatnks for that correction as well about it being a 'possibility'. I was going to put that in my post but I forgot. They didn't say it was going to be bi-annual. They said it MIGHT be bi-annual. And I think they'd do that only if they get the license back. Which would be a good idea.
