I'm sick of people complaining about getting bs feedback. So here I'm going to give you a proven way of getting good, competitive, and sim games. So far I have a 100% 2k rating (i'm 12-5). I don't have any negative feedbacks, and EVERYONE of my games have been great online experiences.
For those of you complaining about getting cheesers or people that leave you bad feed back, just follow these tips.
1. Go into the Lobby (no quick games).
2. Press the LS for texting. Then press the RS for quick messages.
3. Use the F4 message that says "Looking for a sim game (no cheesers)"
4. Either wait for challenges or look for other hopefuls.
5. Make sure that if you get/send a challenge, that the person has over 90% 2k rating. Also make sure that they have a mic.
6. Go into the team choosing lobby, and say what's up to the person. If they don't respond, simply leave. If they do respond, start up a conversation. If you CAN do this, then I guarrantee you'll get a positive feedback (as long as you play sim).
7. Talk to the person throughout the game, congradulate them on good plays, and always say good luck to begin the game, and great game when the game is over.
Like I said, I've played 17 ranked games, and ALL of them have been awesome experiences. They've been fun, competitive, and sometimes nerve-wracking. However, I have NEVER played a cheeser, and about 80% of the people I play I ask to be my friends on Xbox Live.
Hope this helps. People need to realize that it's easy to get a good game and a positive rating. You just need to be highly selective on who you play.

Pretty good rules to follow but I disagree with saying "good play" , "good run" etc etc. Basically kissing each others butts the whole time. Thats why I dont use a mic because if a guy says "good play" to me everytime I do something I feel I have to do the same back . It just gets annoying.
Unless something crazy sweet happens there is no need for it. A nice "Good Luck" and "Good Game" is all I need with maybe a little classy smack talk in between.

I don't mean say "good play" every single play. I'm just saying that if a guy bests your defense with a nice play call, congradulate him on it. If he jukes you out of your shoes, just say "nice juke." To me, it makes the experience better because it's just friendly competition. Which is what videogames are about...

I have played close to 80 games and only been left one negative feedback by some ******* that I played at 6 AM.
So I agree with everything you say. I go to the lobby and usually challenge people with a decent number of games played and the highest 2k rating I can find. A good combo of those two things.
I don't care about the mic thing, because I usually prefer not to use mine just because I am busy doing other things also and I have 3 roommates who often walk in and out of my room. But when I do wear it I usually have good experiences and I have no problem saying good play, etc.

You have to give more then a 90 percent to play someone. I go down to about 80 or so. People are haters and will rate even the good sim players bad.
Just in case someone says i have a blow 90 rating, wrong, i am right at 90 with over 100 games played :P

I have a damn 81% because my old crappy router. And some guy rated me negative for "abusing exploits"
I press the dive button by mistake on a pass play and he lands in front of the receiver and the receiver trips and no flag is called.
Whose fault is that? Mines or the games?
Not mines.

I am turned off by mics all together. I don't feel the need to talk to people unless they are my boys. Dudes talk on the mic on every single play is annoying to me.
Sure those tips seem helpful but it doesn't guarantee anything. I don't want to strike a conversation with the next opponent. I just want to play a fair game and call it a day. I will give anyone their due if they play very good. I don't have a problem accepting if someone is better than me in any game or manning up on a loss. I only give negative ratings if my experience with a person seems suspect such as glitching on extra points or someone who constantly use instant replays

The thing is, if you have a mic, chances are it will be a good game. I just don't trust people who don't have a mic. I don't know if they're going to cheese or not. But in the pregame lobby, I can actually ask someone if they play SIM. If they say yes, then it's a good game... You don't have to talk on every play. That gets annoying to me too. But at the same time, I think it's a good idea to have a mic, just in case you need to call something out..

I'm ****ed dude.. i have 81% because so many people just get ****ed when I beat t hem. Some guy left me a feedback for Verbal Abuse when I never even use a mic. Using exploits because I hurried up when I had no time outs and the 4th quarter was running out and he said 'You used Barry Sanders alot' This coming from the guy who had a gold created RB gold QB and 2 silver TE's, so he could afford to spread it around, not me. I think hes' just ****ed that I held him to 21 points and beat him with a last second TD pass.

I disagree. You won't trust me because I don't have a mic? I just don't want to talk to anyone I play. Unless I know you, I have no reason to communicate to you, other than to challenge, play, and provide an honest rating. That is it! I'm sorry if I seem harsh but I just want a competitive game and move on. Some people spend hours in the pregame lobby twiddling their thumbs talking trash when they could be playing some great opponents. I just don't have time for any of that!

No matter how "sim" you play or how much good sportsmanship you show, you will eventually run across sore losers. I have 3 negative feedback out of 60 games. 2 were sore losers and left bad feedback for no apparent reason, 1 was due to me losing connection and since the dude was beating me (by a large margin)he thought I dropped on purpose.
No matter what guidelines you follow, you will eventually get negative feedback. Just play the game the best way you know how and don't worry about what you can't control (i.e. other people)

I've been given multiple negative feedback ratings from beating kids that blitz every play and just throwing it in the flat to burn them! :rotfl:
Competition can bring out the worst in people sometimes (including me, which doesn't mean I'm not sim, I just like to talk a lot of trash to myself haha) so I just expect kids to give me bad ratings when I play a great game and come back on them or something.
I always play quickgames so I might have to try the lobby sometime instead.

I do not use a mic ever and i play sim always. Cant stand cheesers, but I'll take my chances with no mic. You can beat cheesers, just hope they quit instead of drop. I find that most of the conversation with people, good or bad players, sim or cheesers always seems to find a way to ugly. I just end up throwing the thing back on the floor. Peoples nature is to get ****ed off when there losiing or theres a bad call etc... the list goes on of things out of your control that **** people off. SILENCE IS GOLDEN

I'm not saying that you need to stay in a lobby for an extended period of time. The average time it takes to get a game for me is about 2 minutes. But if you don't have a mic to begin with, then I don't know how you play, and therefore I'll be suspicious. To me, cheesers and people only playing to win ruin online football games. So when I play someone who does everything they can (non-sim style) to win, I get ****ed off, and I don't enjoy the game. It really ruins the whole experience for me. That's why I go with people who have mics, because if I can start a decent conversation, then I know I'm going to have a good game with someone who has good sportsmanship.
Likewise, isn't the point of online gaming to interact with gamers from across the globe? If I wanted a silent game, I'd play the computer offline with a VIP profile loaded...
I'm not dissing your style, I'm just saying that if you have a mic, there's a better chance that you'll get a more sim-style game.

Maybe I can't control the people themselves. But I CAN control who I play. The thing is, I know I play sim. I love the sport of football. What I do worry about is how the other guy is going to play. And if I know before we play that he plays sim (has a mic, over 90% rating, etc..), then I KNOW for a fact that I will not get a negative rating.

Good advice....that is what I have been doing all along and have had good opponents.
Except for the headset.....I don't use mine because, it is uncomfortable.
EDIT: One other thing I do is check and see.....is what ratings my potential opponent gives as well because, some people receive good feedback but give alot of negative feedback

I just don't feel the need to use a mic, that is my preference. I am comfortable interacting with others using the keyboard. After 17 games, I didn't have too much of a problem getting sim style games, as some of the quitters did play strategically well. They just couldn't handle that someone was better than them that day.
Maybe you own a 360. As is takes me at least 15 min to get a single game as I have a PS3. 2K8 is the only game that I have problems with online. So to conclude, we can play a game if you own a PS3. I can play a competitive game with anyone here and do it with no mic! Peace

If people are playing sim but still run up the score that will happen. I make a point not to run up the score. I know i wouldnt like it done to me. If its in the 4th quarter and i am up big. i will try to just run the clock out. I will run the ball up the gut 6 times in a row if i have too.

My mic is broken so yeah.
I mean, I ask for a sim game in the lobby.
I will play sim the whole game. If they cheese, I will play sim the whole game. They will leave me good rep if they beat me and I will leave them a bad rep. They will leave me bad rep if I beat them, I will will still leave them bad rep.
It's simple. Playing a cheese player? Play sim. Play it out and do something else like use your pc while playing or something. Then when the game is done, leave the guy bad feedback.
The feedback system plays a huge...HUGE part in the online community.

Well I would agree with you, but since I have only enough time in the day to play one or two games (if that), I really don't have the luxury of sitting through a game with a cheeser. That's why i'm so selective about who I play. Everyone of my games have been awesome, and honestly, I've never had that happen before in any online game I've ever played. I love the 2k rating system
