View Full Version : If I don't charge my throws with Marino, is he just another QB?

Disregard the Pocket Presence and Quick Release attributes that he has.

I never charged his passes before, but will from now on. I was earning great stats with him before I tried the charged passes...would I have gotten those same stats with any other player?

This type of thread has been done a million times, but I never read a definite answer on this: if a player has a special ability that should be charged, do they still earn some sort of "bonus" if the button is tapped instead of fully charged up?

Thanks...

Mortal Kombat II is one of my favorite games of all time. My #1 fighting game.

Kintaro was tough to beat, but if you pick Kitana, you can just fan him up in the air and then combo his a*s.

Really great question. In my case, I charge when the D is super tight and I need extra accuracy and speed in my throw to thread the needles. If you notice, when charged, the QB's throws rarely wobble. I think they will be above avg. without charging but the charge puts them in another level of accuracy and focus.

I thought that, but after testing it out, no...

When you charge it it just helps improve it even more

nothing wrong with charging the throws consistantly. for every quarterback. it helps with the rythem and timing of the routes. no need to bother if its something somple, like a screen or a dump. (he he, i said "dump")

I use chargeing the most when I get pushed out of the pocket and find myself near the sidelines with time to throw. It ensures that the pass will go where it needs to instead of being off from scrambling ou the pocket.

Yeah....I read somewhere on the original 1.1 version (or something) that the fan life couldn't lift Kintaro or Shoa Khan, but that was fixed...

Marino is the best passer ever and APF just confirms it. He's the only legend that has the quick release / rocket / laser arm combo. I went back to using Steve Young after using Marino for awhile and it's like Young is throwing in slow motion. It just seems like it takes forever to fire off the ball now and then it floats in the air too long.

Charge your throws on deep outs or any deep pass for that matter. Not needed on quick slants or screens.

Thanks everyone.

I just tried to use the charge for my throws...it's going to take some getting used to.

Well to answer your question, no you wouldn't have gotten those stats with any other QB. Gold QBs are automatically more accurate and have more arm strength than any other QB that isn't gold. Charging up will definitely cause you to have much better stats though.

All silver QB's and up feel the same to me.
