I heard that when Madden comes out, APF will get a price drop. Is this true?

Uh...No...why should WE lower our prices on the BEST football game. There ought to be a deal, Buy APF, get Madden free....lol

I doubt it.. remember how 2K screwed themselves when 2K5 was $20. Their thinking was, get everyone to play 2K5 since it's a great game, then NFL 2K6 will sell great at full price.

Now they are finally able to release a football game and they need to make money off of it now, not lower the price in hopes to get new fans for next year. Just my opinion...

It would be smart business even to drop it by $5. They have to compete and sell games.

I wish they would come out with a Strategy Guide, I'd love to have the abilities explained more and some pointers to the game.

I thought I read somewhere that they're going to drop the price to forty dollars when madden comes out.

i think it would be a kick to the customers that decided this was the football game they was going to get since day one. I mean the game isnt even a month old and a price drop?
do the people that bought this game on the release date *ME* atleast get $5 (if thats what they drop off the price) off another 2K title? Reminds me of gas, you fill up when its 2.89 a Gallon then 3 hours later you drive pass the same gas station and now the price is 2.59.

I mean why do i get punished for being a loyal customer and buying the game early and in less then a month they drop the price.

I really like APF but they should have offered it from the start at $50 and then when madden comes out reduce it to $40. Madden is so much more popular but I think football fans would pick up the game if they see the price and compare it to madden or at least buy both games.

I think as a die-hard fan of 2K we should understand what 2K has to do as a company to try to get more sales, and we should be happy to have them make more sales in hopes of having a 2K9. There will always be price drops and someone will always get the shaft... hell, I just bought my 360 Elite a little over a month ago and they're dropping the price and I'm not complaining....... too much.

yea... true.. but it just makes me think... when NBA2K8 comes out should i get on the release date or should i wait another month or two to see if they drop the prices 5 to 10 bux. depending if live comes out after NBA.. but that would be just crazy seeing how they both have NBA licenses...but makes me wonder......

Do you really want to wait 2 months to save 5 dollars...

and really the 5 dollars isn't worth it anyways. You will go on to have 2 months less time PLAYING the game until 2k9 comes out. So really you're getting less value for your money anyways

Well, 2K will only do this for APF because it has such a massive hurdle to overcome to even get in the ballpark of Madden sales. NBA2K & NHL2K are critically acclaimed and probably matche if not outsell NBA Live & NHL.

This makes no since. So if they lower APF to 20 bucks next year they'll lose the generic license business? Your logic is off here. They are in position to do whatever they want now with no fear of the NFL.

This game was definitely a game that you were either buying from the giddy up or waiting to see how the field plays out between this NCAA and Madden. They could drop the game to 10 bucks tomorrow and I wont complain because I had a little under 2 weeks of joy I wouldn't have otherwise.(missed 2 weeks because I was on vacation when the game dropped) To me it's worth the money and it should have been worth the money to you too otherwise why did you buy it. Madden isn't worth the money to me so I wont be getting it, unless, like I've said before they put out one helluva demo that makes me want to smack my momma. Of course her cheek is already sore from APF 2K8 ;) lol

Cool, when I'm done my NFL 2K5 season, for 20 bucks I'll pay for a non feature game. That's what I've been saying it's worth, they finally realizing that.

I purchased this game the minute it was available. If they have to drop the price to $0.99 to ensure the franchise's continued growth, that would be perfectly fine with me. The game play is awesome. However it does have major room for improvement and I feel comfortable saying it's not a 60.00 game. If dropping the price 10.00 or 20.00 will get the flaws worked out I am all onboard.
