I thought this game's kicking was really screwed up but from what I hear from you guys I might be doing something wrong. Last night I was playing the cpu and they made almost a 50yrd FG with a generic kicker while I am not sure if I have a made a 40 yrd fg just yet. I know you push the right stick forward right before he kicks the ball and it even tells me that the shot timing was perfect and straight but my kicking was is still lousy . Any tips please?

From what I understand the timing is only part of it. The game also takes into account how fast you move the stick forward, so even if your timing is good you may not kick it very far if you haven't moved the stick up fast enough.

I think it's a clunky system. Sometimes I kick FGs that look like they would have been good from 50, and at other times I can barely make an extra point.

well I hold the right stick back until he is about to make contact with the ball then swing the stick forward fast but I still have some lousy kicks. I even tried to use a bronze start kicker who's abilities were kick power and I still sucked. I must be doing something wrong or they really messed this up.

push it forward sooner. I push it forward before he's finished approaching the ball even. The manual is very misleading in when to push it forward. You need to do it sooner than you think you do.

And push it forward *hard*.

A legend kicker helps a lot, too.

I noticed when I push it as hard as possible it is usually a crappy kick. I have found that if i push it up somewhat fast and hold it until he kicks the ball I have more success. I am still pretty incosistent though. Made a 54 yard field goal with a generic kicker but I missed an extra point in the same game.

MADE A 51 with generic kicker l;ast night. Keys is not to push forward before he makes contact with the ball, but to push forward quickly just before he brings his leg back.

Slightly early and slightly left will give you a better kick than any late kick. If it is late you are screwed.

listen to meck77,

Move the stick forward and hold it RIGHT AS HES ABOUT TO MOVE IS LEG BACK. Not as he brings it back, but RIGHT before he's about to.

Plus, if you just to kick FGs in practice mode over and over, you really should be an expert within 5-10 minutes. I'll do that and be great, then kinda forget how to do it when i'm online... but i can make 40 yarders no problem at all... anything further than that and I might choke lol... but thats why i do like the system: if you choke, then the kicker chokes.

I have made a lot of 45-50 yarders with generic though... and its awesome when i hit them pretty easily too. since then i've realized it's me who is messsing up when kicks go bad.

Go into practice mode and practice for a half hour, it'll help, trust me. I did and now I'm hitting 44 yarders with tons of room to spare.
