my question here is they 2k has said they have tucked in jerseys and all that stuff but i havent seen one person with it tucked in any screen shot or video i mean sure it wont make or break me buying the game but it effects the look of players i mean like ilya kovalchuk never looks right with his jersey not tucked in or like maxim afinogenov who has his almost all tucked in also 2k says they have tons of equipment and like every player detail i wondering if they will have afinogenovs vapor 10's from like 2001 alot of players still wear them sykora , yashin , lang , blake (rob) afinogenov obv. but their still around soo i think they should be in it , if those skates are i swear ill sell my soul to 2k haha i just hope this isnt one of those ea things where they say their gonna have tucked in jerseys every year and never do. does anyone know anything about this ?:D

As far as I know the tucked in jerseys are in EA NHL 08, I haven't seen any in 2K8 and with the new type of jerseys we don't even know how many will still wear their jerseys tucked in.

For the skates, sticks, helmets, gloves they're supposed to have all the different type.

i'm like 99.9% sure i've seen both games with the tucked in SWEATERS... not jerseys.

But the reason you haven't seen them is likely as a result of the fact VERY few players tuck them in. They have 40 something sticks in the game plus all the styles of tape you can put on them. I'm relatively sure they'll have at least 20 types of gloves and vapors are going to be featured so i'm guessing you are going to be pleased with the result

sorry ovechkin... didn't realize by pointing out that MOST players don't tuck in the sweaters I was making a personal slight against the fact your favorite player does... maybe you could lighten the hell up?

pretty sure if the skates are on anyone with a shred of talent they'll be in the game. Having said that one trick pony ovechkin shouldn't have ANY of his equipment in the game then... <--- see THATS making fun of your favorite player.

Snow Soldier, why not use the word "jersey" even the NHL teams use that word

Sweaters is the proper term, use it peeps.

Seeings that many will have the look of tucked in sweaters makes me sick. Rebock has ruined hockey with Bettman.

it's an old canadian thing... hence the movie "the sweater" believe it was originally french actually.

I really don't care. The jersey thing applies now more since they are no longer giant wool beast like the original sweaters were. But even as recent as 10 years ago all canadain broadcasts used the term sweater. It was the US television that used jersey becuase thats what football and basketball used already.

hey snow soldgier ahhh who has been in the top 3 for goal scoring every year hes been in the league ovechkin ahhh yeah thats a one trick pony hahaha hed burn pretty much anyone and any one who knows a shred of anything about hockey could relize his talent whether or not your a crosby fans or you just hate russians the talent is clearly there iam sorry he can be as good as probley your favorite player say a ahhhhhhhh donald brashear or a rob zamuner but iam sure if you give him a couple of years he will be and next season will see where that one trick pony ends up in points and goals. also for a one trick pony the huge hockey company ccm seems to have a liking for him considering hes their biggest endorser every one knows ovechkin and his talent soo good try but if you knew hockey youd know a good player .

Whenever somebody says hockey sweater, I think knit or wool. Jersey is the correct term.

ovechkin... you missed the point... it was a JOKE... I couldn't care much less who you do or don't like. I said you probably haven't seen he tucked in sweaters since less players use them so the odds of seeing them in screenshots is less likely... You took this as a personal insult somehow... so i figured I'd make a joke and make a 'REAL' insult...

And just a question for you then firend... whats ovechikins +/-? ya... thats what I thought... he's just another federov. Without a yzerman to make something of him he's hurting his team on the ice as much as he is helping. Ovechkin can do ONE thing... so the term ONE TRICK PONY applies perfectly. He's a scorer nothing more nothing less.

I asked the same exact question about the tucking in of jerseys a few weeks ago in the 2k7 section.

2k8 never tucks jerseys which is a let down because my favorite player also happens to be Mas Afinogenov. EA always has his jersey tucked in.

Sweater is an old school and even a slang term for jersey. I believe jersey is the correct term and sweater is slang, unless you live in Canada.

Hello! I live in Canada and I say "GILET"

On the serious side I'll bet you that 2K8 won't have any tucked in "sweatsey". I hope everybody is happy!!!

Oups! It seems like I have lost my bet.

I read in an article on 2khockey.net:

"2K8 will also feature an impressive amount of visual detail. Beyond the more evident things like tucked jerseys, the game will contain dozens of pieces of branded equipment, down to the specific models of tons of sticks, gloves, skates, and helmets. Kush was working on getting as many NHL players as possible to be represented in their exact equipment -- denoting whether their shin guards are tucked in to their skates or overlapping the tongues, and even how much tape is on both the butt and the blade of their stick."

I believe tucked-in jerseys will be part of the game. I'm one of the "hardcore guys" mentioned in the video when they talked about the equipment being the game - I was the one they consulted when they were stumped on product. As far as Afi's Vapor 10s, I'm not sure if it is in the final release.

Supposedly almost every player is going to have the actual equipment they use in real life. From Crosby's unique glove to Ovechkin's yellow skate strings.

Exactly right. However, gear that was not widely used in the NHL were omitted to save on DB space. For example - PITCH3 holders. Since not that many Mission skate wearers in the NHL, they will have Mission boots and Tuuk holders on them in NHL2k8.
