Pro - This game online is as addicting as crack.

Con - My wife dislikes the game because I'm so addicted. All my hobbies have been cancelled and I now play 2K8 constantly.

If you think NBA 2K7 is so competitive and fun online, wait until you start competing with APF 2K8.

Note to NBA 2K fan: I started playing NBA 2K only because NFL 2K5 was so much fun. NBA 2K7 is great and so much fun and competitive, but its still not as good as 2K's football games. It makes you FEEL like you're on the field, even more than NBA makes u feel like ur on the court, if that's possible to believe.

okay let me just come out and say it... if you enjoy nba 2k games online and you're looking for an online football game, you are flat out stupid if you don't buy this game.

sorry retro, i love ya man... but thats just how i feel. to even come on here is wasting time you should be playing this extremely realistic game.

just listen to offline players like baandje, even they say the gameplay in 2k8 is prolly the best football gameplay ever.

let me add the most important positive about the game: the more you play it, the better it gets. the more control you feel you have on the players. also the more sick tackling animations you see. the gang tackling is crazy good inthis game.. and ganging up on runningbacks and hitting them hard is just so much fun i can't describe it.

only gameplay con i can think of: the control feels slow/delayed at first because 2K added so much "momentum" in this game. but its not really a con because its what makes this game better the more you play it.

APF is WITHOUT QUESTION the best football title ever if you're talking game play. It's not even close.

Just don't talk about offline features... ;)

Pros:
Most realistic gameplay to date.
Online leagues and tournaments. Website for leagues with stat tracking.
You choose the players on your team and take the team online.
Uniform customization has a lot of variation.

Cons:
If you are into franchise, it doesn't have one.
If you move the qb drastically, you will not be able to throw the ball(I don't care if it's a bad pass sometimes, just let me get rid of it).
A lot of generic players are just terrible.
You can have multiple players with the same number on your team.
When using some coverage shells, the defenders don't get back, to the actual coverage called, fast enough. Ex. call a three deep zone and use a cover 2 or cover 1 shell, the cb that's responsible for one deep third will get beat by a mile.

That's what I can think of right now. A lot of people complain about the offense being to good but I have been shut down and I have shut others down. The defense will go brain dead now and then, but so will the offense. To me, this is the best football game that I have played. The control is a lot different than Madden. It will take getting used to and getting the hang of it will increase your enjoyment.

I was so impressed with the NCAA 08 demo I could not wait to buy it! I did, played the game and it is a good football game, the best from EA sports in a number of years. A little while later, I put in APF 2K8 and that was it! I still play NCAA for a league I joined, but that is about it... The rest of the time I am playing APF.

Simply put JUST BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!

You won't be disappointed if you like to play video game football.

The cons are well known, there is no franchise system. But you can create any number of teams and play through season after season trying to get all the accomplishments.

All in all, I would give the gameplay about a 9.8 (I am not sure what you could improve on)
Graphics - 9ish
Overall pleasure playing the game - 10!

It is a lot of fun creating different teams to.

Pros:

Being able to build your own team. Pick the players you want then build your playbook around them.

Running game is the most realistic ever

Passing game is the most realistic ever

The animations blow EA's out of the water

Smooth online play

60fps

Cons:

Defensive controls take a long while to get used to (in the way the defenders move and react to momentum), the controls could be more precise on D.

Im the most open minded person here so hear me out....

Pro - making your uniforms just how you like
Con - cant customize your teams stadium

pro - online runs smooth is really fun
con - lack of features, one season mode and online thats it.

pro - you get to play with legends
con - no nfl license

pro - close ups look great
con - gameplay view looks barly a step above 2k5

Bottom line........Madden will be the better football game this year, heck NCAA is rated .5 better then All-Pro and I expect Madden to be better then NCAA.

Wow, so open minded that you have declared a game that hasnt even come out yet as the "better football game".

Yup, REAL open minded.....

Hold up Juice... remember even the 7.5 reviews for 2K8 admit the gameplay is at least a 9. And most of them clearly state the 7.5 is due to a lack of offline features because that's what everyone's used to.

So it's very important to let potential ONLINE buyers like retrojordan said he was, that he will probably really enjoy this game a lot.

It depends what you want the game for. This game is not nearly as complete in the single player experience as Madden or NCAA are.

However, as a football game that you actively play against other people, it is a very good game.

Pros:
This game has the best animations on the market. Motion feels very fluid, and momentum is largely good. The blocking AI is better than most other games out there, and the secondary AI is largely decent (The deep streak isn't the gimme it can often be in, say, Madden). You have a lot of creativity to make your own team, you can design your own playbook and really build a team to your style. A lot of real life football principles work in this game.

Cons: The Announcers are a total pain in the ***, but you can turn them off. The game online has a mandatory accelerated clock, which is fine but it happens within 2 minutes also and can be really annoying. Some pre-snap movement can be hitchy, and the play choices are fairly limited. Gold RBs can carry a team all by themselves, and putting stars on the offensive line is not even necessary.
