Well everyone else has it for Sept. 3rd,so I would venture to say that will be the release date.

Gamespot also have sept. 11 as a release date now....I think it's nice we'll be able to pick bot games up on the same date.

Eb here says the 15th for 2K and 11th for EA. Future Shop (Best Buy in the States) has the date as the 30th of Sept now.

Well since the release date is changed maybe they will ad something to the game. As long as it is out before the start of the season then do what you need to, to improve it.

They won't be changing the game at this stage.

Everything is done...it's all really about manufacturing, marketing, printing, and shipping at this point.

They can't just code some new animations in the next 2 weeks and then start mass manufacturing etc.

Edit: The guy from 2k on the Gamespot show, On the spot, said that it will be release on September 11th so that's it NHL 2K8 comes out on September 11th.

Actually the game is being released on Sept 11th, not the 3rd like all think. If you go watch and/or download the 8/16/07 On The Spot show here (http://www.gamespot.com/shows/on-the-spot/?tag=subnav;on_the_spot) they speak to Ben Bishop from 2K Sports and they ask him what the release date is.

That is an old video. A lot can change in a couple days. The game may have been rejected by Microsoft and/or Sony, and may have been forced to push back the release date so they can fix their problem and resubmit the game for approval from 1st party
