I dunno. I think 2k makes the Defense tough enough anyway. Personally I'd invest 5 good legends on offense. My current team has 1 gold HB (Sayers), 2 silvers (QB-Dawson & WR Mitchell), plus 2 Bronzes(TE-Green & G-Wisnieski). My Defense has 1 gold CB-Wood, 1 silver OLB-Lloyd, and 4 bronzes, FS-Robinson (switched to SS again), ILB-Noll, DE-Simmons, DE-Manley. Oline-run block,Dline-Run stop, CB&Safeties-Pass Cvg.,LBS-Balanced.WR-Possession, RBs-power, QB-Pocket. I use the 3-4(also 3-3 nickle & 3-2 dime)(I played couple games before season to see if they worked (played 2 toughest teams) won both. I'm 3-0 in season so far. I blew out last team 31-0. Anyway I just think that yer team needs more parity. But it's yer team so do what you want. Goodluck & have fun!

Okay i just found out something that really ****ed me off. The Depth Chart for Defense is set up only in the 4-3 instead of making a normal Depth Chart, and i run a 4-4 defense. So i couldn't place my new ILB Jessie Tuggle (who would have been great fro run defense) on the starting line-up. Then i just went for straight substitiution, and the game still doesn't allow me to place Tuggle in my 4-4 lineup. This really upset me because he would have been great for run stops. Anyways, now i'm switiching him out with OLB Greg Lloyd. I'm still ****ed at this. Well my new line up is:
Mike Singletary ILB
Rod Woodson CB
Silver:
Greg Lloyd OLB
Chuck Bednarik OLB
Too Tall Jones DE
Bronze:
Dave Kreig QB
Rick Sanders WR
Pete Metzelaars TE
Dave Butz DT
Eugene FS
Terry McDaniel CB
O-line: Balanced
D-line: Run Support
LB: Balanced
CB: Coverage

Yeah, i like to pride myself on defense. I'm really ****ed off about the first game of the season, i don't like a team getting no more than 14 points on me, and they got 24. So i had to make a good defensive stand the game against New Jersey.

I am 13-2 this season. I hate the generic OL for pass blocking but i've gotten used to the 4-8 sacks/game. They do block for the run really well though, unless i face a stacked run D.

August 12th, 2007, 07:51 PM
I play on Legend, i always go for the best challenge. You are 13-2, maybe you should step it up to Legend.
Yeah, the generic O-line can **** me off sometimes. But i do good on the run also when the other side doesn't have Legend LB's. I don't have a Legend RB though, i figure my generic RB would do what i want to be done, and that's just to get enough yards to keep the defense attention.

I get some really close games, i've only had two blowouts this season. I like the All-Pro level, teams and players that should od well and vice versa. I play 15min quarters and if i pumped it up to Legend i would get annihalated. I have a hard enough time stopping the gold players as it is.
I will however tweak it to get a more comptetitve balance, i find running to be a tad to easy on All-Pro, except verses a stacked D.

15 minute quarter? What's the score for your games? If i play that many quarters, i would have unrealistic scores. Have you tried playing on Legend before?

Eesh. I just think you need an RB somewhere.
My team is
Gold:
Jerry Rice WR
Willie Brown CB
Silver:
Ed Too Tall Jones DE
L.C Greenwood DE
Joey Browner SS
Bronze:
Andre Ware QB
Eddie Moore WR
Christian Okoye/Natrone Means (I tend to switch between the two) HB
Eugene Robinson FS
Dan Salamaluena (Spelling?) DT
Carl Banks OLB
Defense plays amazing online... The D-line always collapses running lanes and puts tons of pressure on the QB which forces bad passes which my talented secondary will intercept or bat down.
Jerry Rice is the main man on offense, teams focus on him and usually leave Eddie Moore wide open. I almost always have more yards with Moore than Rice because he is always left wide open. Opening in 3 WR sets leaves big holes for Means or Okoye to power through and bowl over the first few guys he meets.
I know your defense is amazing, I just think you need ONE game breaker on offense to tip the scales. Something out there that the other team has to really really focus on to stop you. This will allow you to take advantage of teams that have huge amounts of talent on offense that may be able to break your defense on certain plays. The problem you run in with super high defensive teams is that if you match up with somebody that can somehow find cracks in a seemingly bullet proof defense, and they're smart enough to put a few legends on defense, your offense will definitely struggle. While they slowly run up the score on you. A gold on your offense, usually a WR, TE, or RB, will help you balance those types of games out.

I play the game like a real football game, hence i get some realistic stats. Example, the game i just played was 31-21 me. Marino had 361yds passing and 5 Td's, he was sacked 6 times(again the generic OL). My generic RB(okoye is out) had 22 carries for 51 yards. The CPU had O'donnell 161yds passing 1 TD 2ints, 6 sacks, Trippi had 28 carries for 158yds.
Again, i get a lot of games like that. Stats just like real life games., with the exception of fumbles(theres a bug that extremely limits fumbles).

Actually my offense holds it's own. The reason when i play it seems that the score is very low is because i like to run out the clock. If you see the game when i played the Federals, i didn't allow them to even touch the ball 2nd half until mid-4th quarter.
My generic HB does what i need from him. And my TE P. Metzelaars and WR R. Sanders definitely do what i need from them. As you can see from the first game of the season, we can hang even with a offensive team.

Quick Update:
Cleveland loses to Pittsburgh 31-14. Cleveland even with the lose has clinched a Playoff Spot. Pittsburgh looks to fight their way in the Playoff now. Pittsburgh are still number 2 in the division, but 1st in the WildCard. With 2 games left in the season can Piitsburgh hold the Wild Card Spot.
This game against Pittsburgh really ****ed me off. I tell you there is no way i could have won this game. It was like all my players had dumbed theirself down, while Dan Marino, Mike Ditka, and the other 2 Silver WR where just unstoppable. This really ****ed me off, there is nothing i could do against their offense. I have the no. 1 defense in the league and i couldn't do anything at all against these guys. Rod Woodson was getting burned, and every other defender was getting burned. No matter what play i picked on defense, they had an answer. I know this was an important game but i couldn't help but feel i was going to lose that game no matter what. No matter what play i pick they was going to counter somehow. I knid of felt.........cheated. It felt like all my players skill lever was toned down. Well i took the loss, and i will just have to move on.

In game Update: The against Ohio Red Dogs, Cleveland's no.1 receiver TE Pete Metzelaars was injured in the 1st Quarter of play. Cleveland played on without him, but in the 2nd Quarter found that he has a fractured arm and will be out for 9 weeks. This puts him out for the rest of the season and the Playoffs. This is a huge hit for Clevleand, Metzelaars was part of their Big 3 offense. He was actually the main guy. Now it's just QB Dave Krieg, and WR Ricky Sanders, the big three is now the big two for the remainder of the season.
Halftime Cleveland is up 9-0.
