Special team kick returns broken?

Anyone notice that if your returner doesnt catch the ball in the air and you manually try to pick up the ball he just kicks it around until the kicking team recovers? Seriously, why cant you just pick up the ball? One on the most frustrating things I have seen in this game.

Well its frustrating because you are well......un-smart.

Press the Y button on 360 to pick up a loose ball
Press the X button to dive on said loose ball.


Its in the instruction book.

That is what I said. I told him what the buttons he should be pressing what more do you want to to tell a guy who is not smart enough to look in the instruction book or if it didnt come with one looking at the loading screen controller set up OR even asking a question without saying it was broken.

Plus.....I like being a jerk/******* to un-smart people...it will make them mad...and if we are lucky they will become smarter.

He told him what to do and didnt insult him. Usually everyone looks in the manual thats all. Its usually common sense if you dont know something in a game. Guess times have changed.

PLUS. He insulted me before I insutled him. That is very hard for me to believe.....I have seen MANY MANY people online forget that this isnt madden and just run to the ball and stand over it thinking it will auto pick it up.

That is simply because tons of people never read the book that comes with the game.

i had a kickoff where my guy (jerry rice) caught the kick at the 5 but he was going backwards and he went into endzone then out of bounds for a safety, i couldnt stop him once he had the ball with his momentum

I only play offline and never had to do this - but now that I think about it, when the CPU doesnt field a kickoff cleanly they do boot it about until it goes out of the endzone or out of bounds the few times they couldnt field it cleanly.
