View Full Version : Using DLINE player in 2k8 should be considered 'sim'

I havent seen any reason that people shouldnt be using them as long as they don't move before the snap. I've played a lot of great games against people who only play with the lineman and havent seen any reason to call them cheese for it.
Anyone else agree?

Using dline is ok. just find out how the person u playing is using that player he has on dline. if he is trying to rush around alot just run right at him and he'll run right pass it.

Only time I mind it is when they move their d-line guys off the line of scrimmage. Otherwise I don't care in the least.

I'm even fine with people dropping the DE back into a 3-4 out of a 4-3.
As long as they are staying inside of the tackle box it's sim to me.
I play De frequently, I like to force the QB into single man blitzes or stunts.

I didnt mind people using it in any of the other 2k games as long as the werent glitching, which was easy to do. I never did understand why all the "extreme sim" players didnt like people using it at all.

Paranoid basically, if they didn't know what the stunt looked like in a replay they didn't know if you glitched them or not.
The more I remember 2k5, the more I appreciate all the fixes in 2k8 :rotfl:

Oh lord, looking at your team in your sig, I think playing that defense would make me want to rip out my eyeballs.
And yes, it's sim.

I'm glad that us dline lovers can actually play the position we like to play. Nothing wrong with the other positions but I just like using the dline putting pressure on the QB or guessing run and trying to protect for that. It's alot of fun for me and I'm glad the glitch is gone.

I actually prefer the other baller to play as his best DL'er. It's easier for me to escape the sack when it's a user chasing me.

I'm all for the use of the d-line as well.....as long as they don't move out of position till the ball is snapped.

It's really not a problem for me even when they line them out wide because I use Marino and he's a pocket passer.

I have no problem with it as long as they don't manually move the D-line before the snap.

WOW.... I'm glad people can see it is not a glitch this year. I use all positions depending on what defense I call and what the situation is. Nice to see we won't get bashed like the other 2k games.

Well in 2K5 it was a glitch and it was definitely cheesy to control the d-line....especially the DT........but, luckily it appears that 2k8 has gotten rid of this glitch

It's sim, but still pretty lame. Take another position where you actually have to do something outside of spin and try to get to the qb. Playing 2-man while manually getting to the qb is pretty lame.

quit whinning! i've never seen a forum with so many crybabies. play smart is what it say. if you can sack the qb or pressure him then do it. if your good at moving your LB to the run or the pass, do it. if you're willing to play your FS/SS to defend the pass, go for it. play smart and let's have a good game.
