I know this has been brought up before (I would think it would anyway), but the search function failed me on this.
Anyway, I've been playing in a league and we forgot to turn off 'injuries'. This is such a game breaker when playing league play I can't believe 2K doesn't have a function for a star replacement or trade or something. I mean once one of your stars, especially say a gold QB get's injured, that team is wasted, non-competitive with other teams in the League. Have I missed something about replacements or trades?
Thanks.

No I don't think you've missed anything but the point. Injuries is part of the game man. Your star goes down and it's "hold your breath" time. They report him out for any length of time and it's "OH NOW WHAT DO WE DO NOW". You just have to suck it up and try to make do with what you got. The generics, while not superstars, aren't exactly a load of crap either. They do have some skills and people just have to find out what those skills are and use them.
Now yeah it would have been nice to trade but I don't think that works to well in this format but it would have been nice to see. Giving up 3 of your bronze if you want this gold. Interesting trades could have went down

Tough it out and come back stronger the next year.
If you choose to put all your eggs in one basket, aka passing team, and your QB goes down, you are out of luck. Perhaps picking up that bronze RB would have been a good idea.... :)

Hmmm,
chuck muncie my silver and only RB went down week 2 of our league, and I am 7-2 and number #1 in my league. I won the game he went down in and 6 out of the seven remaining games. I still have 3 more games without him and plan to make the playoffs.

I wouldn't want to play in a league that injuries were turned off, they happen in real life. Don't get me wrong you are certainly at a disadvantage without a star player if you have a finely structured team. Before chuck went down I probably ran 7 out of 10 plays. I just had to lean more toward my passing game( so now its about 50/50 with a generic back), and if my QB went down I would lean more towards my running game. If you have no star backs thats jhust bad management on your part. Plan for injuries and how you can compensate.
Being one dimensional is a sure recipe for disaster. Have confidence in your squad and play like your star was still there. Its important to stick as close to the original drafted playing style, if you cant sell the pass then they will just shut down the run and your done!!!
