im confused.. 2k related

i went to the 2k website.. they're selling preoders for gta.. since when did 2k put out gta games? i thought rock star put out gta games?

rockstar is the developer and 2k is the publisher.

the developer creates the actual game and the publisher finances, markets and distributes the game.

it's kinda like having a record company finance an artist and handle all the logistics of getting a cd to the stores.

nah nah i know about the whole publish thing.. but i never knew 2k publised gta games. did they publish the games from the past?

honestly, i'm not sure when it happened, but i'm thinking since san andreas came out, take-two acquired rockstar.

so gta IV will be the first one published by 2k --- i think.

which means 2k is bringing in some serious money late this year and early next year

I think 2k starting publishing GTA games, when Rockstar bought them out.
