I'm thinking this is going to be a scoring contest and the person who makes a mistake (turnover on downs or turnover or punts) will lose. These teams are way too offensive oriented, just about every team has 2 WRs at least and not one team with 2 CBs? I wish there was a defensive team, I can run a good offense with 4 offensive players

Ditto...They should have had defensive teams also...I think i might just get a passing team and hope i score a lot of points

This was my concern too and I voiced it as soon as they posted the teams.
They dont care at all, they posted something like "Cant make everyone happy" well ****, are those teams making ANYONE happy?

So these are the teams we use during the qualifying period?

No. It's after the qualifying rounds which I think it's stupid in my opinion...I would just let people make their team...without created ones and u just keep your team. I've been using my one team since I got the game (only changed them once and that was the second day of release, had the same ever since).

The rosters found on that link will be used for the online playoff portion of the tournament. They were created to give everybody a fair chance and prevent people from abusing created players, etc.
The rosters were released a couple of weeks ago to give people plenty of time to practice.

Honestly, player chosen teams excluding created players would have been the best way to go. These teams are truly horrible. There's passing, run, and balanced teams, no defensive teams. I know I will make the top 256, but I don't even want to now. No more than 2CB's on any team. This is gonna be a shootout, its hard enough for me to shut people down with 3corners and 2safeties, now Ill have just two, and maybe a safety or two. Everything else is great, I love the ELO system, truly reflects skill and strength of schedule.
Kudos to the tourney directors and organizers, you are doing a great job and have things going pretty smooth right now. Big error with these preset teams though! The major joy people get from this game is picking their favorite stars and going to battle with "their" team. Practice or no Practice, me playing without NT Lane, Willie Brown, and Lester Hayes ruins the fun for me.

they made the teams so that people dont just stack up an all defensive team or an all offensive team, it is a good idea in my opinion, we are gonna see who the real players are, and we will see who hides behind thier stacked defense or offense

yeah I agree, the teams are stupid. Those of you who have played me know I play as an all defensive team, with old 3 bronze on O. This is the team that has me at #18 on the Tourney Leaderboard, and this is the team i want to use in the tournament.

I am glad I didn't sign up from what I hear. I am a defensive guy.

So we have to build the playoff teams ourselves or are they going to be made available to us now?...I dont have to time to build all of those teams myself.

This is most likely one of the dumbest comments I have ever heard in all of sports video gaming.

The problem with these pre set teams are that they dont play to anybody's strengths. Players who love to play Defense are screwed. These general teams add a lot more "luck" to the tournament than skill. I like to play man d generally. That will be impossible with the majority of teams having just one corner, for example.

first one to punt loses or has a turnover!

Even if a person stacks up on d/o, the non stacked side is garbage, which is the side you take advantage. Those teams usually never work out. Besides, these teams that they created are just random. It looks like they picked the gold and a few silver players, and then hit the random select button for the rest of the teams. The big draw to this game is picking your favorite legends that fit YOUR STYLE of play. They have completely taken that away in this tourney.

you must not have been playing sports video games long, there are plenty of people online that have only 1 offensive player, that is earl campbell, and they just run 4 out of 4 downs, and then they have a stacked defense, i'm not saying its not beatable, but i dont see how it will be easy, especially if they are good at running people over with Earl as a lot of people have become
you must be one of the people that i was talking about

I agree, to me this is like playing as the Colts all season long only to switch to the Packers for the playoffs...it makes no sense to me. You are given your star players to distribute how you see fit...we should not be forced to play a pre-created team.

I don't mind them defining the teams for us, but any Defense without at least 2 CBs or a CB and a safety is going to get torn to shreds by a passing team.
