I typically try to play a quick strike style of play. That's just how I'm wired I guess. My drives are normally fairly quick and I either score or punt the ball away.
The other night I was playing a guy and I decided to try a ball control style of play because the team I was using was fairly strong on defense and I figured I'd just move the ball slowly and then let my D get it back for me.
I received the ball first in the game and my first drive used up the entire first quarter and part of the second. 7:23 second drive. Problem was I only got a FG out of it and that FG came back to haunt me later.
What has been your longest time of possesion on a single drive?

That was against a human being, in an online game too.

Numbski - it was those stats from your other thread that got me thinking about this.

Heh. The one thing I just noticed looking at that pic - take a gander at yards penalized. :D

holding the ball and killing clock is the lamest thing a baller can do in a football game. It's extremely boring and takes away from the game.

I didn't say anything about killing clock. I never let the playclock run below 15 seconds if I can help it.
If you move the ball 3 or 4 yards at a time and consistently convert 3rd downs, it chews up a lot of clock. If your defense can't stop me, that is not my problem.

yes.... if you're just playing ball and taking what's open then yeah... running a long drive is legit. however, when peeps intentionally try to kill clock with short passes\short runs all day every day... that's when it becomes lame. Especially in APF when the ranked games are so short... maybe like 4 - 5 possessions per game.

Wow, only 3 penalties but it cost you 109 yards...:rotfl:

Yeah, I'm thinking I kicked the ball out of bounds once on accident. Probably didn't help. I'm also thinking tackling Mike Ditka over the middle long before the ball got there didn't help either. :D

Numbski there is only one stat that matters. Did you have more points than him at the end of the game?
