The first poster is wrong.
Try playing in different stadiums at different times of the day and you will all the lighting effects.
If you never played past halftime during a night game at certain stadiums, then you would never see the gradual change of the lighting as the game progresses. This is in sync with the other features of the game that change gradually during gameplay. Dirty uniforms, field wear & tear. Etc.
Big HDTV helps to show all that shine and polish off as well.
And if you not in HD then that explains it.

Am in HD, graphics still look like crap...If it had been any other game I would have pawned it by now...2k needs to step up the graphic game...

I remember in 2k5 that the stadium lighting had shadows on the field practically every game. I'll look harder tonight, but this is definitely NOT an HDTV issue. Clarity and sharpness are an HD issue, not being able to see a shadow. I see player shadows, so that's why I know the HD thing is off-base.

Hmmm... I hadn't noticed the shadows moving either. Perhaps I should play longer games? Different time of day?

Just thought I'd point out that almost any half decent computer monitor can output a resolution higher than the 720p the game plays in, at least that happens to be the PS3 resolution.

I use a Wal*Mart special ILO 26" LCD HDTV monitor at 1080i via component video cables with my Xbox 360. I don't have a means to do high definition screen captures. This is just regular composite output and I can tell it looks better than 2K5:

They should vary the time and conditions of gameplay during online matches. I would love to play in the snow, or rain, or at night, or something other than a sunny day with a little wind every damn game!

Your TV sharpness should always be set to zero to achieve the best picture.
Sharpness.....can be misleading because, it doesn't make your picture sharper it creates a fake edge around objects and actually worsens the picture.
