ONSIDE KICKS

okay, i have been playing this game for a long time now, and my opponents ALWAYS get onside kicks against me. Yesterday I was winning 31-14, and the dude got 3 ONSIDE KICKS IN A ROW to force overtime. I feel helpless trying to get these things....i have no stars on onside kick-return and i have no way of getting the ball. ITS EXTREMELY frustrating.

ANY TIPS?

Try doing a normal kick return. It works better sometimes.

Try controlling one of the guys and pressing LB to catch it.

yeah, i tried the LB or y button a couple times, and the ball literally goes into my hands and bounces out, its those freakin generic players cant catch.

press x you have to time it good though i always catch it

Yeah, it seems like they either drop the ball every single time or just let it hit them in the dome.

Unfortunately, it seems you may need to shuffle your personnel. That means going into the Team Edit menu and just pressing START at each screen until you see the Roster file has saved anew. Doing so randomizes EVERYONE among the generic players on your team. Hopefully you will get some guys with HANDS for the Special Teams that way. Rots-o-ruck.

PS BTW, if someone at 2KSports/VC has a means of choosing EXACTLY who you want to use among the Generic players via a debug code, it would be nice if ye'd share on GameFAQs or something. Thanks.

You could go to the substitutions menu and go to onside kick recover. Then just switch some of the guys with your legends.
