move over. This is the greatest football game I've ever played. I hear people complaining and whining and to me these folks don't understand football. 2KSports got it right with this game and I'm glad they did. This game is soooo good if people would take the time to learn it and learn how the game of football is to be played.

The learning curve is high in this game and that turns the avg gamer off... but take the time to learn how to really play, it uses the same concepts as real football.

Just my 2cents.

I have to agree with you little brother. One other thing when you playing you have to stay focus you can't let frustration gets to you.

Agreed. I might have to go to marriage counseling over this game. Trying to keep family first but even during family events I find myself thinking about the game. It is sad really. Very addictive

2k5 had more substance...The presentation is a little lacking and the running moves are not as fluid and diverse like 2k5...What happened to the refs coming on the feild to measure for 1st downs?...Injured palyers getting carted away?...Fan cutscenes, and my beautiful blimp shadow?...The running moves are average at best this year...APF2k8 passing with Stabler or Len Dawson is like a dream...The OL play is fantastic and did I mention the QB animations are scarily realistic...The graphic are horrible though and the player models lack a little weight to them...I want a little bit more control on defense...I miss 2k5 celebrations...The players were more into it after a TD than now...They used to jump and each other and do crazy stuff...I miss 2k5 but am very happy with APF2k8...They need to tighten defense a little more with Cbs and allow for blitzing to count again ...

If you go back and try to play 2K5.....which I did a week ago you will see how much better this game is.

Better yet.....try Madden that made me love this game even more.

The game play is much better. 2k5 had the full package to please everyone, but I believe that will come about with 2k9.

I noticed some of those things too you mentioned. The first down measurement was cool although a little predicable. I knew when they walked out if he first down chain started out 2 yards back that it was 1st down. If they bring that back in 2k9 they need to make it where you can't predict it like that, but I can wait.

I don't see many injuries, but yeah, I do miss the cart and sideline snapshots they use to have where the guy is going into the dressing room, on the treadmill or being looked at for head injuries.

The celebrations especially when it is a game changer would be nice to bring back.

LOL. Some of you are too funny. I read the same thing over on the various Madden boards. "Anybody who doesn't like the same video game I do just doesn't understand football!" I bet 99% of people who say that have never even played organized football.

There's nothing sim about tapping a botton for speed bursts or to break tackles. There's nothing sim about charging a player up to unleash a super move. There's nothing sim about not being able to adjust your D-line. Face reality, both games are simply that............video games. You want sim? Do away with speed bursts and power-ups altogether and let the attributes speak for themselves. There's a ton more pre-snap options in Madden on both sides of the ball than there is in APF. And the AI in APF performs just as spotty at times as Madden.

Sure it was rushed and overpriced but I enjoy it. I think I would have been disgruntled like some folks here if this was the second or third installment of the game on the next gen consoles. I'm not taking a shot at Madden. I've always had both but this years Madden, although rich in options, just still feels lifeless to me. Still a HUGE upgrade from the past two. 07 should have been what 08 is now.

I am not sure that APF 2K8 is better than Madden 08 overall, but APF has is such an original game and that is why it is so fun to play, playing with all the legends it is great. I think all the past Madden games were bad but they knew they had to get it right with this since for all these years there was no competition, and now there finally is competition and they pull out one of the greatest Madden games IMHO. Both games are good and I keep switching back and forth but to me Madden 08 is just a tad better than APF.

I respect your opinion.....but, Madden has a long way to go, to be able and compete with the gameplay and animations of APF2K8.

Because of the fact that they had less than a year to make this game (2K8), & they had to spend most of that time signing legends, I am more than happy to excuse anything in this game that is broken or missing. . . which you can count on one hand D-Line, formation specific defensive audibles, chain gang, etc. As they were making the game they didn't even know for the longest if they would be able to release it, because they were under pressure from the higher-ups to sign a certain amount of legends. . .so take that under consideration as well. All that considered; 2K8 is a great game. . . .:) 2K9 they will be able to make robust like 2K5 was, & actually more so. . .

Things I want to see in 2K9:
1. A new (fictional) sideline reporter.
2. To have interviews that take place in the locker room
& on the sideline
3. The same franchise mode from 2K5, with added features;
such as the option the play out or watch the weekly prep drills.
4. & 3 way trades. . .:D
5. Bring back The Crib, FPF, Celebrity Teams (Just kidding!!!),etc.
6. Horse collars that make the shoulder pad pop out of the jersey. . .
7. Towels & Hand warmers for QBs
8. Old playbooks from pass 2K Football games. . .
9. & of course new animations. . .

Sorry this game can't hold 2k5's game manual with two hands, lol, maybe next year, but sorry 2k5 is so much better it ain't even funny, better than Madden, yes, but nothing's better than 2k5-- not yet
